No anon, you can def learn new skills at 30, if you're feeling slow probably just depression. Find something to get excited about and jump on it. The physiological effects of knowing you're doing something to improper yourself are a huge pick up.

There is some truth to this. 31 year old boomer fag here. Going back for CS degree. Had straight A's. After being confined to my room for the past 2 weeks, have 0 motivation to work on school work, feel like lost 20 IQ points. I think biological decline in cognitive functions after mid 20's is negligible in our 30s. 99% mental perspective and how you perceive yourself.

It's all about that perceived self image. Learning and committing to goals and tasks is far easier when you have experienced enough bullshit to ignore distractions that would have completely de railed you in your twenties. 'hey you going to that party' -no 'were going to the bar' - nah. 'you staying on COD bro, one more match' - nah I'm goin bed. That desire to capitalize on every single opportunity that comes your way is still there it just shifted focus from being someone who didn't get shit done to someone who does. I guess what I'm sayin is if you want it bad enough then no it isn't exhausting. It's fuckin exciting just like your old interests were.

It's not the ability to learn that changes, it's how much more you have on your plate besides school.
Learning isn't the same ball game if you're handling a job, kids, a house, etc... at the same time, compared to a little shit who gets his monthly check from his parents, and does litteraly nothing except school and fun

The good thing is, you have a major motivation advantage and are more grounded. I went back to school at 27, on my own dime. The focus and dedication were at a whole other level than when I was a kid, 20 year old in the class didn't stand a chance.

tl;dr: you're probably better at comitting and learning than a 20 year old, you also likely have much more to deal with besides education whereas most unifags have all the time in the world.

You do hard job of learning, reading and looking in to it all by yourself, got it? So you skip to pay money to some one who don't care what you learn or not and if it will be useful in your life or not. Teachers need to survive time with you for a check. You idiot spending your time for other peoples monetary insensitive. Got it ?

The grammar of your post alone is a testimony to the value of education
education in the US is a ripoff and not worth the ludictous pricetag, no debate about that. doesn't mean paying for an education is ludicrous. A proper training course is an investment. I went back for a MBA, for roughly 10k. That 10k was repayed by the increase alone after 6 months of the higher paying job I got with my MBA. I had taken out a loan to be safe, which I repayed in full in less than a year
Yes you can self-teach, but you'll never learn as well and/or as fast as with a good tutor, and you're at risk of developping an overly-inflated sense of your own knowledge, while forming sentences like some pajeet monkey.

Obviously it is more difficult to learn new things, to a certain standard, when you're older. And that doens't mean you just have to "try harder", because some young person is "trying hard" as well so you're still worse off.

The question is "how much more difficult/unlikely" is it an the answer depends on the skill, and all about you and your brain/body at this point.

Some things are essentially IMPOSSIBLE for someone to improve at in any meaningful way by that age. Other things the difference won't be very pronounced but you're still at the disadvantage of having much fewer potent years ahead of you to continue the progress.

The only people who think you can do anything, any time, forever, are still 17yo and haven't experienced any effects of ageing yet and quietly imagine that people are immortal.

Your entire life should be learning & training, you should be in the library, you should have at least 10 books checked out at a time, minimum. What a stupid fucking opinion. Not everyone had the same upbringing as you. What if they were veterans cashing in on the GI Bill?

What if they decided to work for a decade or so in order to save money for college or are returning for a degree paid for by their company?

What if a relative died while they were in college and their family could no longer financially support their education?

What if they had to drop out of college for their own medical problems?

The people who drop out and finish late, or just get a degree later on in life aren't fuckups. It's the people who drop out and never come back who are usually fuck ups. What a faggot you are.

Cognitive decline won't affect your employability until your 40s. Only very high cognition/memory/reaction tasks like esports, chess, etc get affected by the time you are in your 30s.

You should be able to learn employable skills in your 30s.

One huge benefit that teens have in IQ/test-taking is that many of them don't have real environmental stressors or non-academic skills that fill up our brain. If you inherited 10m and could autistically focus on your studies you would do great too.
