I'm seeing us heading to deflation more than hyperinflation now - if the debt bubble pops then Australia's public and private value will drop drastically, GDP too. if nothing is being produced to fill the hole left by a potential debt collapse then cash will become a lot more scarce, I also see this scenario with banks wiping the publics digital cash ending in only physical cash being used,

Anyone think I'm right/wrong? want to hear what other people think on that desu

withdrawing super isn't a terrible idea as long as you use that opportunity to invest it.

if you take 10k out to grow it yourself you stop the fund from bleeding you dry with unexplained fees, and you take control away from the government (if you're 20 now you're exposed to the risk of the government pulling some shit with your super in the next few decades before you retire and its released to you)

>> No.18095241

I can see how withdrawing super is a risk if you are older or going to stay in the same industry forever. I'm changing early 20s just finished my degree. Been working hospitality for the passed 6 years and have 24k super. May as well take 10k to get over the hump. I know 10k will be work 130k in 40 years. But I'm going to be making big Bucs soon and can afford the risk. I'll just up my super contribution when I land a job in the next 3 months.

Can't imagine a scenario where digital cash is wiped. I feel like that would just end in riots over comparisons and gains or losses between people, companies etc.

The country has been in a per capita recession for almost 5 month's now, and way before corona, we have had record high mortgage stress and debt to income ratios anyway. Keep in mind this is with a low unemployment rate too. Where we are headed next I beleive is either a fuckton of people start defaulting on their various loans, starting slow but eventually a house of cards.

Or, if the banks have realised (likely) that waves of people defaulting means their actual balance sheet and assets go way the fuck down, and they have to sell this debt, they will have to extend payment terms, ease up even more somehow on Interest, offer some incentives or releif packages etc.

This is in addition to the government Going for QE and inflating asset values from purchasing them. It will feel like a bad recession but will seem things are borderline fine on the surface imo.

One thing we have for us is our strong mining exports, especially gold, Nickel and iron ore. Business ramping up after a AUD/metal basis value increase will supply a bunch of new jobs as the miners scramble to debottleneck and increase throughput.

Hospo worker here. Everything is looking pretty fucked work wise. I've been on workers comp for a month now for an Injury so now I need to make that last a little longer. I'm eligible for the cennobux once compo is run-out and I'll be able to pull 10k out of my super in 2 weeks. Misso starts working from home tomorrow so I think I'll be right for a while. Gonna take all the money I'm saving from not leaving the house and Chuck it in long term investments. Plus the 10k of course.

How fucked are we looking lads? My parents were joking about it 2 weeks ago and now they ring me every day freaking out. All the Boomer's are starting to realize how serious it could be for them. I feel like we might be good if all this lockdown shit gets followed but who knows.
