1. Start saving every penny you can from every pay check. Cancel any unnecessary expenses that you have such as cable TV, gym memberships, highest speed Internet, expensive mobile phone plans, etc.

2. Look up how to apply for unemployment benefits from your state so you're fully prepared and can quickly file for benefits if you get laid off. I believe the bill going through Congress increases both the time you can collect benefits as well the quantity of benefits that you receive. From what I've seen, it should easily be enough to keep you from going homeless unless you're living way beyond your means.

3. I think there's going to be more stimulus coming in the form of outright free money and perhaps forbearance on rent and debt payments. Keep an eye out on what Congress does.

In general, I don't think you're going to become homeless. Even corrupt Congress knows that if they dick around too much and 30% or so of the population gets evicted, there will be mobs burning down state capitols and the Capitol itself.
