it's already really bad
if you don't know someone on the inside, you're doomed to work a shitty job for at least the first couple years until you can position yourself for a career change. If you want the earn more you are basically forced to change jobs every 2-3 years as well. Shit's gonna get so much worse too. Can't wait.

I've been trying to get a cs job for a year with only 6 months of previous experience. I have 2 degrees (1 in cs, I got both at the same time) and I apply to jobs constantly.

In the extremely rare case I get an interview they ask incredibly basic things that a high school kid could write, like write an IsPalindrome function, or write a linked list. I've only had 4 in person interviews in a year. Most new grads no absolutely nothing, so they expect that you know nothing.

I get headhunters messaging me constantly about jobs in the middle of fucking nowhere, but I'm not leaving the nyc suburb NEET life with my parents just to work in a flyover state for shitty pay, that I'm just going to leave in 1 year anyway.

Zoomers know their shit. They are spreading as much of the virus as possible to boomers, after most boomers die of there will be a lot of job openings and wealth transfers.
Absolute genius move.

I apply to them all day on LinkedIn, Indeed, and a ton of other sites, headhunter pages, company sites, etc.
Nearly every job out there (entry too) requires at least 5 years of experience with X technology and Y technology. You can apply to them (I still do), but when you do you need to be prepared for this:

>*ring ring*
>Hi this is some fucking idiot from some headhunting middleman that knows nothing about computers tell me your background
>*Give the usual background*
>Yeah okay whatever answer these questions: "Do you have more than 5 years work experience in SQL? Do you have more than 5 years work experience in HTML?"
>Well no, I just graduated but I've worked with amazon web services and am familiar with SQL as well as non-relational da-
>Yeah that's okay, we'll call you back if we have anything for you
>*click*

Same as in 2008, maybe worse this time. Mass layoffs are here now, and it will get worse. Zoomers will be applying for entry level jobs along side the 10,000 10+ year veterans in their fields who were laid off. They will work in retail until they aren't sharp in their skills any longer, and younger kids who graduated in 2025 will get the entry level spots.
>t. graduated college in 2010
It took me 5 years to get a job. STEM degree, good grades. Stood no chance.

How did you end up getting a job?

>> No.18064582

First, a terrible low paying job with a company contracting with the federal government. Then, after a year exp for my resume, moved to a better paying job in private sector, but had to take a 3rd shift. After a year of that I was working in my field, normal hours and normal pay. Wasn't easy.
