Thanks anons.
Free tip, check out AFLYY if you do want to go airlines, Air France is a very established airline that does a lot of travel between the US and Europe, as well as within Europe, with Paris as its center. Very vulnerable, likely to get bailed out because France, but not included in plans for US airline bailouts because not US company.
But don't buy too much at once because I'm poor and want it to keep going steadily down until I get my paychecks, and since it's a foreign KLM thing on the NYSE I don't klnow what kind of volume it trades at.

From what I understand, with a call you're expecting the future price of the stock to increase past the strike price of the options contract. If the stock does indeed move past the strike price and then some, then the call you have immediately becomes more valuable as you have the right to purchase those 100 securities at a cheaper rate. Additionally volatility factors into option pricing, as it rises (indicating that greater option price movement is expected), the more option premiums increase.

Some other anon correct me if I'm wrong, but I hope this helps.

I literally paced back and forth in front of my computer all day after buying it premarket at $25 and could have done that. I wanted to wait for it to hit 27. Now I just want to kill myself. If it doesn't rally a little bit tonight (thereby giving a signal that it'll do well tomorrow) then I'm selling before 8 PM hits. My stack is literally my entire portfolio.

It's all by a computer. That computer says "give Bill Somedog $40,000" Then that info is sent to your bank's computer. Bank computer says ok. Bill checks his account next day. Sees he's 40k richer. It's that simple. Same shit that works at your job anymore. If it's direct deposit then some computer somewhere controls when on what dates the "money" is released to the employees. It's all digital info. The only time actual cash enters into it is if at your bank or at an ATM you request it. (or via the cashback option at Kroger/Wal-mart)

Mhh, why do you think that's important that the cheapest source of energy especially for industrializing economies has to be bought in USD? I'll let you think about that one.

sorry i meant $5, i dont see many like this but i have come across a few stocks where the call option costs more than the underlying shares if you had bought 100 of them. i jsut remembered about the greeks though, so maybe the answer is the multiplier you get from volatility and gamma for more gains. like instead of $1 profit from $1 increase in share you get the $1 profit + $.60 for each dollar the share rises.

Why would I wait until it's what I feel is the "true bottom" to invest when I could invest incrementally on the way down, be guaranteed money at the end of it all, and have basically no risk rather than risk hitting too late and buying at the end of a moonshot?
Is all of this just pure shitposting? I mean I'm not going to do what you all say either way but just curious.

Libs tabled a proposal that gives them war powers, pretty much, in to 2021. Tories said fuck off. How dumb could you get?

A person attended a coronavirus party in Kentucky and then tested positive for the virus, Gov. Andy Beshear said at a news conference Tuesday.

The governor said he hopes he doesn’t have to speak about this incident again and reminded himself to forgive the person who attended the party.

"This is one that makes me mad,” the governor said, discouraging the action. “We have to be much better than that.”

Bashear later said the “coronavirus party” was a group of “young adults” who intentionally got together, “thinking they were invincible" and purposely defying the state’s guidance to practice social distancing.

Beshear stopped short of naming the county where the patient is from or where the party took place, not wanting to identify the person who “made a mistake.”

At least 163 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Kentucky, the governor said.

The safest way to invest is for growth over a 20 year period, through a bank, in index funds or something like that. I'm absolutely going in for quick cash, just in a sane manner. What you have to realize is that the NYSE will still be here next year, and if you can surely make half as much, you can then reinvest that in a smaller dip because some dumb speculation shit or global panic of the month happens at least once a quarter now thanks to the media. So unless you're genuinely just looking to get a lot of hookers and blow for a pre-suicide party, why not do the obvious and continue to make money quicker overall on the same basis as compound interest?

Bears aren't going to win in the long run though, fat. You are just going to get steam rolled by the Fed because your mind can't wrap it's head around 9 digit figure when our debt has been growing at an exponential rate for the past 50 years. Look the way I see it this is the 1920s with a minicrash now before we get a stupid abundance of cash to make another crazy bull run that will usher in a depression the equivalent of 1929. Just add another hundred years to this and we get the timeline for 2020.

I'm an irreplaceable academic, which, I admit, does give me a bit of an ivory tower perspective. I didn't mean to come off as if I was uncaring, I certainly think it sucks for those who are now out of a job, I'm simply speaking clearly. The reality is, if this is what caused your firm to downscale, it likely shouldn't have been as large as it was to begin with. Yeah it's the failure of the leaders in this case.
They should have just told big corporations to fuck off and endure the pain. Instead they told them "we're always here for your profits" and helped them out.
This is just like feeding birds during the winter and creating dependency. When the food eventually runs out they all die.

Before quarantine even began we were facing travel restrictions and bans. Do you have any idea what a logistics nightmare that is for companies already, even without mass quarantine? No bro, the economies were slowing down already back in January because of this and you are oblivious to the pain of the private sector because you work public. I hate you fuckers that have never owned a business and see a natural disaster like this and go "Oh well they weren't a good company after all" when even the biggest of fuckers are begging for bail outs. Where the fuck is my bail out as a small business owner? The fucked thing is my taxes are just going to go back to feed into the bail outs so yeah please fuck off with this.

I'm going to be blunt with you:
You are not worth saving.
The janitor, the stocker, the builder, these are all contributors to my society.
You just contribute to the student debt of stupid people while contributing to the common delusion of a centralized academia which is in overall agreement on "how things ought to be run" and which good goys should never ever challenge or disagree with, because they need to be getting on board with your high-concept anti-consent class war, not being content with their low-risk comfortable lifestyles and spending their rebellious energy calling you out on your bullshit powerplay social initiatives.
If you caught the Wu Tang Coof tomorrow and wheezed your last while futilely trying to fellate yourself, it would make zero difference to anything that actually matters, but if the janitor dies they have to find someone new to keep the public space he covered clean.
Plus, he's probably more honest and well-meaning as a person than you are.
