We're looking at something like 60% of people getting it with 0.12% fatality rate. not great but not worth torpedoing the entire global economy. This event will go down in history as a case study on why not to extrapolate by early and partial data. If we come out on the other side of this economic collapse I hope we can find some sort of accountability for science journalism. This is like yelling fire in a movie theater, it's criminal.
