savings are what you dont have when you marry out of high school, have kids and work at a factory like 1/5 of the people I know that graduated high school. The other 2/5 don't know how to handle money and are in debt. I'm the only person I know who has savings/investments, besides the buddy I told bitcoin about 4 years ago, became obsessed with it and is now worth several hundred thousand (not nearly as much as me)

actually they have, in the 1970's the US was going to pass a form of UBI called a negative income taxation.

The only reason it never got written into law is because both republican and democrats argued over what the name of the bill should be.
