I only say this because I was looking at it and was interested in trying to do a smart contract in it. It says that the plutus core is what runs the cardano-sl layer. But I can't seem to understand what exactly the SL layer is even doing or how the node interacts with it at all. The cardano-node doesn't seem to interact with it.

ADA is THE COIN. Cardano is the Amazon of the Dot Com bubble. It is the pinnacle of blockchain.
