If you do get laptop for VR, you'll need a THICC laptop with actual ventilation (Plus External fans), because the thermal throttling on laptops is so bad even a GTX 1660 laptop will be running at GTX 1050 TI levels after 30 mins of use (which is ok but you'll have to lower your VR refresh rate from 90 to 60). Also 8GB of RAM is Not enough for most VR Games/Apps, this is because windows 10 uses 4GB of RAM. Some apps/games will run but anything over 4GB will crash.

You'll end up having to plug that laptop in just to have it do anything worth doing without draining the battery in 30 minutes. You also won't really be able to use it on your lap because it'll blow hot air out like a furnace and be incredibly loud. The footprint and useability end up being nearly the same as a desktop as you end up locked somewhere with a chair, a desk, and somewhere to plug it in.
