If someone hypothetically had a Coronavirus vaccine right now that they could somehow prove was working and safe to use immediately so it could start being used right now, how much money would this be worth? $100 million? $1 billion?

Somewhere between $10 billion and a trillion.

>Germany is furious about reports that President Donald Trump offered German scientists “a billion dollars” for exclusive rights to a coronavirus vaccine to be used “only for the USA.”

Probably a few times that. If it was safe. Clinical trials, even parallel human and animal ones would take months.

So if a random person invented it they could possibly become the richest person in the world? Or if it’s a random company they could possibly become one of the richest and most valuable companies in the world?

It wouldn’t be a “random” person or company. Vaccine development takes very specific know how and even if it didn’t the process of getting it approved for use in humans is a giant pain in the ass.
