Audibly kek'd at this.

Is ETH's inability to scale going to hold back LINK? Transaction fees were $20 during the crash. I don't think most companies will be paying $20 to get a price quote from a LINK node.

During the crash, lots of people were trying to transact on the ETH network. Just like when cryptokitties was popular lots of people were trying to transact on the network. I both cases, the network was congested and transaction fees rose very high. If all of the world's major corporations start using the ETH network, that would result in far more transactions than we saw during the crash or cryptokitties. So how is the ETH network viable for international commerce when it can barely support the panics of retail traders and digital cat games?

Don't Threshold Signatures alleviate this issue? Or the recent Arbitum partnership that enables off chain scaling?

Apparently you need to use ETH to pay for every transaction that involves LINK. During the crash, the people that we're using LINK oracles needed to pay $20 of ETH each time they wanted to check the price of ETH.

I'm not sure if I am correct though, all I know is Threshold Signatures greatly reduce gas costs; however, I'm not very technical minded so I could be referring to another unrelated issue.

I thought those are for running smart-contract computations off-chain. During the crash people were paying $20 in gas to query LINK nodes and the amount of traffic during the crash is tiny compared to what world-wide enterprise use would bring.

If real businesses used the ETH network for their daily operations, transaction costs would be $20 (or more) all the time. This is a huge obstacle and I don't think business adoption will happen until it is solved.

Asking the right questions.

https://medium.com/offchainlabs/scalable-low-cost-computation-of-ethereum-smart-contracts-using-arbitrum-on-the-chainlink-8985c6542d4e

>TL;DR
> Arbitrum Protocol integration turns Chainlink Oracles into mini Ethereum virtual machines to handle the computation and the consensus between the oracles selected for the smartcontract job before they broadcast the final transaction on the Ethereum blockchain.

Some say the screeches of Buterin's seething could be heard following the reveal and details of this partnership...
