There are no easy answers of when the best time is to buy into Bitcoin in the bear market. I just do the best I can. I bought a fat amount when it was 3.4k over a year ago, sold a few when it when to like 7k in november/december. I regretted selling those few btc ever since.. Basically I want to get back the amount I had after buying in at 3.4k.. Now I am being given the opportunity to buy in lower than I sold at, but I have no capital to buy. Definitely feel quite powerless watching these cheap prices slip by me. I still hold a fair amount so that is good, but missing this opportunity hurts. If I were you I would start scaling in as the price goes down, maybe 0.1BTC at each increment. Of course missing the 3.8k hurts, but the price could go down again to 3.8k or lower so it is important to scale in rather than blow your wad in one. Not financial advice.

At the moment I am trying to sell a bunch of stuff and get some income so I can start scaling in.

I don't long or short anything. I buy or sell. I want to buy.... I will be buying once I get some capital in. I am trying my best to get some.. You will never find an entry to Bitcoin where you feel 100% certain. And you have to be prepared for big drops after you bought. Bitcoin is not like any other assett, it is extreme on both ends............. But what is guaranteed is that if you are patient you will profit, profit greatly.

Also I am not longing because it will likely go down again soon lol............. Longing and shorting is often just gambling,...... My skill only comes in on thinking in the long term............ I bought at 3.4k and held through the recent 12k+ rise............... You didn't buy in at 3.4k over a year ago for what reason? But bought at around 10k..... I think you should ponder this.

Yeah people bought at $20k too man........... Even the $20k people be ok eventually.. But of course there entry is poor.

With Bitcoin, you are rewarded most for buying when everything is in the shit..... I was in the crypto scene 2013/14 and left it for 2015/2016/early 2017...... I kicked myself ever since for leaving the scene those years.......... Almost everyone left at that point......... But it is at those points where nobody is interested or in fear when you want to buy in.............. This is what helped me have the wisdom to buy in over a year ago 3.4k........................ It is that same wisdom that tells me to start buying now, but I have no capital to do so.

So to cut it short, as long you are patient Bitcoin benefits everyone... Even those that bought at $20k eventually... But of course you will want a better entry than the last top. People buying at $20k did it only because the normie herd were buying in, there is some punishment for that in the form of miss opportunity and the need for more patience than anyone else has to have.

Your thinking needs to change to succeed in Bitcoin......... You bought during the hype at 10k yet don't buy during the fear and boredom at the 3-4k levels... One good thing you have done is hold onto the Bitcoin you bought initially. But you need to stop thinking with the herd and start understanding these things for yourself.

I did the same as you but in 2013/2014... I bought in at 600 dollars but held through the 1k boom to the crash............. My mistake was not buying during the multi year dip leading up to 2017.
