I'm not just talking about bitcoin, I'm talking about abstracted value, i.e. what money represents. The production deficits from China's containment measures scared the living shit out of investors. The Chinese economy won't be growing for a while so the panic sellers take what they can get out of a rapidly shrinking market trying to mitigate damage to their portfolio.

With the investment community liquidating in horror those investments are bought up at lower prices than they were originally worth, yeah? These could grow if production resumes as normal over time but, in the short term, that money is basically gone. It's in financial limbo, economic purgatory.
