The average life expectancy in Monaco is 90. This is eleven years higher than the US life expectancy of 79. The reason for this is that Monaco is rich as fuck ($200k per capita gdp) with great health care and nearly half the population are millionaires. Being rich does more to increase your life expectancy than anything else and being a millionaire will basically add a free decade onto your life.

So why aren't you using your 20s to work your ass off and build wealth /biz/? Not only will you get that time back, you'll also get to be rich for the next 60 years.

Who cares about living till you’re 90, never understood this modern obsession with living life far into and beyond the onset of significant physical and cognitive decline, at some point you gotta learn to just let go. My grandfather had a lot of money (sadly had a lot of grandkids as well so I didn’t really get that big of a piece of the pie but still probably more than I’d have ever made my own) and even he didn’t really bother to spend it too much on healthcare in the last few months of his life, he’d been in the army and saw combat, attained significant position in my country’s intelligence service, and made his money in natural gas using the contacts he made from the army and intelligence. He died at 75 though, one of the few things I remember him saying (I was quite young) was him saying living a full life was far better than a long life. Slaving away at your desk and your computer for the goal of living long for the sake of it doesn’t seem like a very good life To me
