What happens when they literally cannot inject anymore money into this market? Something has got to give, the longer they prop up a dying market the worse the collapse is going to be

This is Fed/Government manipulation. It's the only reason why the DOW is still above 20k right now. I have a feeling stocks are going to start in the green at open, and dip hard into the red by mid day. Wouldn't surprise though if the Fed brings them back slightly into the green before closing bell.

It'll probably climb to like 700 before lunch and then drop to 300 or so tomorrow afternoon, nothing substantial either way, they'll delay this as long as they can

It's actually like an advanced form of sadism. Letting retails hope for a green open just for the HFT algos to drill it into the ground at the open on milisecond windows. What a time to be alive.

Futures are back to where the limit down was hit last night. That means a lot of bobos will start covering if it can be pushed higher. I'm bigly long as of midday and praying I have a chance to jump out if we keep these levels.

you shoudl always buy during a crash, it's basically free money

watched a guy buy $50,000 worth of CCL today at work, think he bought in around $21.60

I have the same sentiment but not the same brass balls. I'm buying into blue chips that I know will for sure get through this mess. That CCL buyer will probably make more money than I do, but Carnival will have to actually survive for that to happen.

My second concern is that if this really does evaporate a large portion of boomer wealth and retirement funds, cruise lines might never recover, therefore I'd feel a bit safer with airlines.

doubt they'll go bankrupt, in the 2008 recession people made a ton of money off cruise liners and very few (if any?) went bankrupt.

Carnival got the doubly whammy discount with the markets being down in general, and then the virus impacting cruise ships specifically. Neither of those conditions will last forever, eventually virus will run tis course, and markets will naturally recover, and thats twice the potential to gain.

You're right it's not a quick flip, he plans to hold for 5+ years if need be, but expects to get a 400%+ return

Airlines definitely seem safer broadly speaking. If you expose yourself to a wider range of airlines then you might beat the market. But I'd definitely be wary of betting too much on any single airline since who knows if any of them tank if shit gets worse. Of course, they'll have to get bought out by someone. A bankrupt airline is worth a lot since they have so much physical capital that is only really useless at the moment due to bad management or misfortune.

This. Things have got to a point where they simply don't care anymore, they will just keep going till there's nothing left.
