Is this not the greatest recipe for a 1987-style market panic that you've ever seen? Sure, some of this is already priced in but the Fed cut rates 50 bps and kneecapped Bernie Sanders last week to try and keep the party going but none of that really helped. The Fed can't fix this and the psychology of the market has turned from BTFD to sell-the-rallies.

All that, said, usually when someone tells you to panic, it's time to buy. But I just don't see it. This has to get much worse before it gets better.

I did do research, there is too much positive news for this to end the earth. Yeah, 50 million people or so might die. So what? 80% of those will be 70+ years old, and the world population is still growing at alarming rates anyway. Because if you started shorting when it was obvious this was going to become a garbage fire back in late January you would have been completely wiped out. Shorting the market means you have to be very exact in your trades which means not just predicting how things will happen, but when things will happen. At least this is how I cope.
