This may be a stupid thread for /biz/

But how much money do you spend on food?
I try and keep it under $14 a day, I'm a terrible cook so I normally buy some premade stuff at a local shop before I go to work.

I've got 8.5k in a checking account and 8k in my brokerage account. I'm I stupid for spending money on food like this.

Occasionally I got out and pay for a nice meal at a restaurant with friends, very infrequently I go to a bar with friends.

How much do you allow yourself to spend per day?

savings are important - but you should really focus on increasing your earnings

you aren't going to save your way to making it anon

I cook in a crock pot on the weekends and it provides great meals throughout the week which I can heat up in glass microwavable containers with lids I got on Amazon

I eat out whenever I want

by the way, anyone of you faggots can cook with a crock pot. It's made for single men.

You cut up:
potatoes, onions, carrots, garlic, beef chuck or some other cut of meat. Mix in 50cents pack of onion soup mix.

I might be forgetting something. But then you just wait 6 hours and you have "cooked by mom" level meals and you can get good glassware and reheat them. They also have reusable storage bags on amazon that can be frozen or microwaved

I used to use my crock pot a lot more, but I just stopped. I'll make sure I start doing that more. I usually make rice with a mix of veggies for multiple days, and sandwiches for work, but when I want to just eat a tasty meal I bite a bullet and buy one.
But yes, crock pot is mommy level meal

Learn to cook and buy flour, yeast, onions and potatos as base. To make a good pizza dough you take 500gr flour, half a cube of yeast, 6gr of salt and 325-350ml water. Put some mozarella, onions and maybe salami or something on it and you got food for a day (1 pizza midday and 1 in the evening) for 3-4 euros.
Making your own pasta is just as easy and delicious but you need a pastamaker, its a lot of work without. You take 200gr flour, 4gr salt and 2 eggs, mix that and let it chill in the fridge for one hour. Then roll it out and cut into pieces.
For a good sauce you buy yourself some tomato cans, onions and zucchini. First cut everything and put the onions in a pan with oil or butter and then add zucchini and later your can of tomatoes. Add salt and pepper, maybe oregano and finished.

But creative stuff, I dont really do at home. I stick to basics.

I go to the store 1-2 times per week. Spend about $ 15-40 per week on food because I shop smart, cook and meal prep.
I can ( and have) lived off $40 per month.

I found a key card for a hotel by my house that has free continental breakfast, so I just go there every morning for an omelet with bacon, coffee, and some fruit. I also use their gym since it's empty, then I take a shit and shower.
Then I volunteer for a food bank once a week to get my pantry stuffed with all the good shit. On top of that my longtime friend manages a whole foods and lets me take home whatever I want at the end of the night.

I haven't paid for food in years, just all in BSV.

For me, it's the McChicken. The best fast food sandwich. I even ask for extra McChicken sauce packets and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.

One time I asked for McChicken sauce packets and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly McDonald's worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".

Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three packets. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local McDonald's restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large iced coffee with milk instead of cream, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.

I even dip my fries in McChicken sauce, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.
