Initial investment was about $10k. Most of that money was made botting the auction house in Diablo 3. Had tax stuff to take care of and didn't want to move a lot of my crypto before it was sorted out, so the vast majority of my net worth is in crypto. Should be about $7,000,000 right now, meaning LINK makes up for more than half of that, which is why I'm going to take this opportunity to take profits and fix my godawful distribution.

No prediction on the price, sorry. I generally have a very positive outlook on crypto this year though, mostly towards the end of it. My trading's mostly based on intuition though, so I wouldn't be able to give you a reasoning other than that I think things look good.

Well, the reason I got into the coins I did was because I thought they sounded like they were worth the risk. I did a lot of research, checked out their ecology by joining Slack servers and such to make sure it's not an obvious scams and whatnot, and that's how I've built up my portfolio. This doesn't just apply to ChainLink, but a lot of other coins I've made money on.

Perhaps I just stated the obvious, but that's how I went from the about 40 BTC I had in early 2017 to what I have today. I also mentioned earlier that I made my initial investment botting D3, but I also made money through other programming endeavors on the internet. There's a lot of opportunities in programming to make money on the side that you could use to invest in crypto.

Potential? For sure. I don't dare make any predictions about whether it will or not in the near future though. I think crypto as a whole will have a good year, but I also think it might take another 6 months or so before it really starts. Wouldn't surprise me if BTC and most alts, including LINK, take a dump before we enter another bull market, although I'm personally thinking we'll see a lot of sideways movement. Take all of this with a grain of salt though, I'm no oracle and I might change my mind as time passes and things change. This is just my current outlook.

Short-term is up in the air for me. From my point of view, LINK is at a crossroad right now. Long-term I like it for the same reasons I got into it in the first place, its fundamentals.

As for the halvening, yeah, I think it'll act as a catalyst. But I imagine that the more it happens, the more dampened the effect will be, so I don't think that necessarily every halvening = bull market. I just think that things seem to be lining up well for more or less a repeat of what we've seen in the past.

My point is that I can see this happening again. When things really take off, all reason seems to get disregarded and people throw money at the dumbest shit. I didn't, actually. It wasn't too hard to do myself using some of the tools available online. I used bitcoin.tax for most of it, because even though the final report is meant for Americans AFAIK, I can use the resulting numbers to calculate the rest myself. I had to write some custom scripts to process some transaction histories into CSVs that the site could read, but besides that it was most of the trouble was having to pull all the data from sites I've transacted on and compiling them. Some sites no longer existed, so I had to use the transaction history of my BTC accounts to figure out what transactions I made to the best of my ability too, which was a bit of a pain in the ass, but not too bad.

Quick correction here: I'm a pretty able programmer and can understand a lot of the technical details about it. I understand fairly well what ChainLink is all about and its fundamentals is what urged me to buy the presale in the first place. What I let my intuition decide is when to buy and sell based on what's happening with regard to news and price development. I fully admit to not being up to date at all with what's going in the ecosystem, however. I've only kept up with the price and major news for a while now.

I optimized away everything that I saw as time consuming and not as my main priority due to time constraints.
After I started working, I progressively stopped keeping in touch with my remaining friends to spend more time on my hobbies and learning new things like crypto/trading.
The main problem is that it's useless to force myself to interact with friends when the difference is too big in the way we think and perceive the world.
As time goes most people change and have less in common, but I don't know where to seek out those similar to me.

if you're in the US and have a gdax account you should sell there so you aren't taxed twice, on Link to Btc and then Btc to Usd. Then you can pay on long term capital gains tax too, since you've held the Link over a year. Otherwise you're paying long term tax on Link to Btc, and then short term on the Btc to Usd.
