Initial investment was about $10k. Most of that money was made botting the auction house in Diablo 3. Had tax stuff to take care of and didn't want to move a lot of my crypto before it was sorted out, so the vast majority of my net worth is in crypto. Should be about $7,000,000 right now, meaning LINK makes up for more than half of that, which is why I'm going to take this opportunity to take profits and fix my godawful distribution.

Yeah, I think I understand now. Honestly sounds a bit silly to me to treat the it like that. It's an Ethereum token, not a cult. I figured it was all a meme and I've never participated in any of that. I learned about ChainLink from this board, researched it, bought the presale (I'm forever grateful to the anons who posted their presale URLs), and since then I've treated it just like any other coin in my portfolio.

Do you see the irony? I don't argue that people put some serious effort in this but don't deny the fact that it was part luck that you or others got in early. Well, the reason I got into the coins I did was because I thought they sounded like they were worth the risk. I did a lot of research, checked out their ecology by joining Slack servers and such to make sure it's not an obvious scams and whatnot, and that's how I've built up my portfolio. This doesn't just apply to ChainLink, but a lot of other coins I've made money on.

Perhaps I just stated the obvious, but that's how I went from the about 40 BTC I had in early 2017 to what I have today. I also mentioned earlier that I made my initial investment botting D3, but I also made money through other programming endeavors on the internet. There's a lot of opportunities in programming to make money on the side that you could use to invest in crypto.

>>17558098

Well, I realize that it's basically a cult here now. But do you think it's this cult that's actually moving the money? I certainly don't at least. To me it's just a token that happens to have a 4chan cult worshiping it, and that can be ignored for the most part. If I'm ever proven wrong, I'll for sure dump it all.

https://www.skatteetaten.no/person/skatt/hjelp-til-riktig-skatt/utland/inntekt-og-formue-i-utlandet/frivillig-retting/

Potential? For sure. I don't dare make any predictions about whether it will or not in the near future though. I think crypto as a whole will have a good year, but I also think it might take another 6 months or so before it really starts. Wouldn't surprise me if BTC and most alts, including LINK, take a dump before we enter another bull market, although I'm personally thinking we'll see a lot of sideways movement. Take all of this with a grain of salt though, I'm no oracle and I might change my mind as time passes and things change. This is just my current outlook.

Short-term is up in the air for me. From my point of view, LINK is at a crossroad right now. Long-term I like it for the same reasons I got into it in the first place, its fundamentals.

As for the halvening, yeah, I think it'll act as a catalyst. But I imagine that the more it happens, the more dampened the effect will be, so I don't think that necessarily every halvening = bull market. I just think that things seem to be lining up well for more or less a repeat of what we've seen in the past.

Ethereum just made a platform to make blockchain tokens. None of those tokens were unique. The 2017 crypto bull run was based on unprecedented media exposure (largely due to how big social media has gotten), new ease of access for buying shitcoins, all coupled perfectly with widespread ignorance where people thought they were buying into something that they weren’t (which was useless shitcoins with no unique utility).

The only way something similar to 2017 will happen is if some “new revolution” comes along that can dupe people into throwing their money away again. It won’t be shitcoins again (and if you aren’t already invested in it, don’t expect to be a millionaire before 2025).

I think it’s important for people to be realistic with their expectations and to assume they aren’t going to retire off of ChainLink.

My point is that I can see this happening again. When things really take off, all reason seems to get disregarded and people throw money at the dumbest shit. New tokens or whatever don't need to be unique or offer innovation when it reaches those levels, and that's why I think there could be huge opportunities that have yet to come. I used bitcoin.tax for most of it, because even though the final report is meant for Americans AFAIK, I can use the resulting numbers to calculate the rest myself. I had to write some custom scripts to process some transaction histories into CSVs that the site could read, but besides that it was most of the trouble was having to pull all the data from sites I've transacted on and compiling them. Some sites no longer existed, so I had to use the transaction history of my BTC accounts to figure out what transactions I made to the best of my ability too, which was a bit of a pain in the ass, but not too bad.

You want to make sure you're getting paid on time and don't have to worry about employers bullshitting you? Timesheets will be logged on to a smart contract does automatic payouts. On top of that, every single big name site will have a new decentralized counterpart that will be more profitable than ever for the creator or worker. Think decentralized Uber, same thing, but power by smart contracts. Think Youtube, powered by smart contracts and less oppressive to Youtubers. And so on and so forth. With smart contracts, you can RECREATE COMPANIES and since they're smart contracts and not entities, the wealth will be distributed far more than ever before. And this all needs Chainlink.

>You need join a group of people or something, sleep at one of those hostels.
Yep, staying at hostels is actually one of the things I'm looking to try. I'll try my best to not let myself just end up sightseeing completely alone. I'm not exactly looking to "normiefy" myself, but I just want to not be terrified of human contact with anyone but my parents. Right now I have literally zero friends and haven't had one since I lost my high school friends like 7 years ago, so I hope to lose some of the anxiety and gain the confidence to be able to get myself in positions where I can at least get a friend or two again.

Are you me?

Yeah you need to learn how not to be anxious in social situations, and actually seek them. That's the only way to make friends.
You had friends in school because you were forced to participate in an activity with others and regularly meet, now you don't have that obligation anymore and you went back to loner mode.

Be careful not to seek the wrong thing, I completely overcome my fear of people, I was sweating bullets when talking to a cashier now I can barge in a warehouse to ask for free supplies to some randos. Didn't help me make friends thought.

Reccuring social activities are the answer, but one needs to fucking commit to it and actually dive in.

Friendships are formed when you have a lot of unplanned interactions, and have to struggle for a common cause, a goal.
It also has to be in a setting with no pressure, as in no one is actually there to make friends or socialize as a primary goal, so people are relaxed.

Just dumping some of the things I have searched about.

Afaik he never claimed to be an authority on the project. He gave a few reasons as to why he's selling now and I personally respect that. Removing burdens such as housing and other things he mentioned are something I won;t argue against. As long as he manages to take profits and use them for his own improvement, I couldn't care less. I also appreciate for taking the time to answer to anons as well as me, a nulinklet, without bullshitting or acting high and mighty with a sub 100k stack like many linkies have been doing for months now. You too, huh. But yeah, I realized that first part very quickly when I went to study at a university. Social activities were optional, and I opted out of all of them thinking it would just sort itself out like it always had from elementary to high school. Turns out that wasn't the case, and before I knew it, people had formed social circles already and I found myself completely left out. I then just further distanced myself from everyone and things just spiraled out of control from there on and turned me into a nervous wreck.

The reason why I said about him is because you are asking him about what he thinks of the future. If you REALLY understood Link, you'd recognize that the Chainlink Network will power the new internet; Web 3.0 which utilizes smartcontracts, the breakthrough spin off technology of blockchain tech, the breakthrough accounting spin off tech of bitcoin. And if you're following the market, you'd know we're in for a crash. You don't want to spend to have a ton of cash on hand; only cash out what you need to live off of. Keep that in mind when your time comes to cash out.

As for the social anxiety, try meditating. Really, it helps calm your mind from all the useless dialogue in your head and makes life in general so much more worth living. Offers substance which can not be found in materia. Easi tutotorials on jewtube. Worked for me.

Good luck with your journey.

Quick correction here: I'm a pretty able programmer and can understand a lot of the technical details about it. I understand fairly well what ChainLink is all about and its fundamentals is what urged me to buy the presale in the first place. What I let my intuition decide is when to buy and sell based on what's happening with regard to news and price development. I fully admit to not being up to date at all with what's going in the ecosystem, however. I've only kept up with the price and major news for a while now.

How many in this state are INTJ or 140+ IQ here ?
I optimized away everything that I saw as time consuming and not as my main priority due to time constraints.
After I started working, I progressively stopped keeping in touch with my remaining friends to spend more time on my hobbies and learning new things like crypto/trading.
The main problem is that it's useless to force myself to interact with friends when the difference is too big in the way we think and perceive the world.
As time goes most people change and have less in common, but I don't know where to seek out those similar to me.

Should we try to create a private 2017/2018 Link marine group ?
Would Discord be acceptable for this, or is telegram better for the identity security ?
