My boss and I generally have a good rapport between us, and I’m
>programmer
>have a 6 month old son (the only actual important reason here)
>already work from home Tues/thurs every week

I feel like right about now is the time where you decide whether or not you want to chance it with believing how bad or nothingburger that coronavirus will turn out to be (I’m easy coast US so may not have gotten it yet, but could come in contact with some west coast traveling libcuck as the weeks go on etc). So if I laid low now even for a couple weeks, it could possibly save me an infection or at least buy time to see how things develop.

I’ve had flat tires & shit before that I text my boss about the same morning & he never says shit. He silently leaves way early or slithers in late some mornings anyway, think it’s mainly HIS supervisor he might worry about. But how would I go about saying,
>Boss, I’ve got my giant dev monitor at home and 2 months of food; respectfully, I will be completing my duties from my domicile until the outcome of the coronavirus situation becomes moar clear.

I’m just trying to imagine the scenario for a range of different responses.

It would be very sudden; but that’s kinda the nature of this whole fucking event lol so I didn’t decide to get serious about things till just now. I’m not sure they’d mind that so much anyway.

If it came to a “no you’re not, or else don’t bother coming back”, at least then it’s a matter of whether the virus risk is worth more than my job.

I’m sure it’ll actually be some grey area in between, which doesn’t help when I’m already wondering if I’ve just been on /pol/ too much lately and would do best to get on some meds instead of sperging out trying to be a hero.

Just say that you yourself are sick, and that its in the company's best interest to have you work remotely.

First time I've heard anyone use "nothing burger" in a real conversation (outside of paid white house shills). You really are a fag. Best advice, take your son and jump off a bridge before the virus hits. Right now, go!

If you're in Washington state or close by I would refer him to the interview they did a couple nights ago where they stated that they'd recommend employers utilize telecommuting as much as possible if the situation worsened. Followed by pointing out that it has gotten worse since and shows no signs of slowing. Decent chance of convincing him this way.
