Don't really care about any of this climate garbage, but I'm self installing solar panels soon because I can get at 15%+ per annum return on capital by doing so. This is a triple win
>High real return in investment
>Deprives government of recurring tax revenue
>Tricks dumb roasties that buy into climate communism and gets them wet

Wtf. Communist countries have been the biggest climate change deniers

>> No.17517971

So imagine you're are in a lab and you have a sealed glass bulb, like a lightbulb. And you can pump different gases into it through a valve. And it's completely obvious to anyone with 8th grade chemistry that if you pump different gases into the bulb, its properties will change. Properties like its electrical conductivity or its ability to transmit light and sound, or, say, its ability to retain heat.
It requires absolutely zero special insight to see if you put different gases into a closed system, the physical properties of that system change.
So Earth's atmosphere is a closed system. Industrial society pumps billions of tons of gases into it. Its properties change.
I don't see the part where any of this is remotely difficult to comprehend. It would actually be way more interesting and bizarre if the physical properties DIDN'T change because then you would have to explain the mechanisms through which this closed system magically ignored changes to its chemical composition and the physical properties that stem from that.

Yeah, but we are not exactly keen on having these changes because our environment is delicate as it is. Heating up this world by even 1 degree will mean loss of life which can snowball into really terrible consequences for humans

>Gas
By Chesapeake you faggots
They are limiting production now which will cause two things.
Higher gas prices soon and leaving the best gas for last.
Chesapeake is valued at less than 1 billion because of 9 billion in debt so dont go all in but there is massive leverage here if gas prices were to bounce back up in the next year.

And? Already said I don't care about the climate debate.

>>17517771
>Cont.
Think about it, how many opportunities do you really have to own the means of production in the truest sense. Energy production is a huge sector and you can buy in as a producer with solar panels and be more profitable than the vast majority of energy companies. You can even enter with 100% leverage and get guaranteed returns for 25+ years, and it will keep performing at full rate through all market conditions including depressions.

>Don't really care about any of this climate garbage

The ethos of nothing matters is a gun pointed at all of our heads. Frankly I don't care about you personally even if you did care about the climate. But now that I know you don't, I despise you. You and the boomers both can go into the wood chipper.

>> No.17518666

>>17517971
thats actually a nice way to put it but i think the argument of the other side is that the gases you pump into the system don't affect it all that much compared to the system's natural cycle of heating/cooling

The only global trend gun pointed at my head is the billions of humans that exist only as a function of subsidy from Europeans.
>>17518677
Not denying anything. Sure the climate is changing and this will put a small percentage of species at risk, and we should take affordable actions to mitigate that. But carbon in the atmosphere is not a big deal, because there have been periods of Earth's history with much higher heat and carbon concentrations and those periods coincided with much higher bio-density (more plants and animals). Polar bears are not going extinct, infact the are breeding like wild and are psychopath killers that are increasingly attacking humans (I guess this makes you happy?)

Coal electricity will go away when it becomes economically inferior to other energy products, as is happening right now with the drop in solar cost. This will be the case no matter how much you bitch, because the most financially effecient society always becomes dominant globally. Green communism will only make us poor and unable to advance technology that allows us to move past fossil fuels.

I live in a cold area, I would love warmer winters. Fuck snow and shit. Bring on global warming. Most of the earth's history was much warmer than now. When the dinos were around it was like 85F on the arctic circle. The whole planet was a tropical paradise. Global warming sounds like a great idea.
