17516410 No.17516410 [Reply] [Original]

This world is fuelled by nepotism. Just going through my LinkedIn of the people I know, this is what I discovered:
>A who got a job at Deloitte, his aunt is a Partner there and was a VP at IBM before
>B who got a job at JP Morgan, his dad used to work there as VP
>C who is an assistant professor at MIT, his dad was also a professor at MIT and Cornell
>D who is a software engineer at a Big N firm, his friend went to the same college as him and wait for it - his sister is head of HR at the Big N firm!
>E who is receptionist at UBS, she is in a relationship with a Senior Associate according to her Facebook
This world only runs on connections and good genetics. Hard work and meritocracy is a meme.

Well if you had 2 candidates for an open position.
A) A person you know and is capable of the job
B) Unknown person

Which one would you choose? Simple as that.
The only thing that makes me irritated about it is that people can't usually accept this truth that their connections have helped them. People get literally mad if you even suggest that maybe it did help you that your dad happened to work as a manager in the company you got this job at? Nooo! Its not that, it is all my own excellence!!

>> No.17516652

>>17516613
But the worst part is that the disadvantage accumulates, so for example person A gets job cause connection person B doesn't, person B keeps searching for other job maybe unrelated to his field, later on even if person A loses job he already has exp in the field thus other employers are more likely to hire him compared to B that is either a neet or has been doing a random job cause no exp.

My social connections are not expansive, probably for a reason, Whether it be out of my own autism or our of my distaste for the direction to which society is going. Regardless, I see nepotism as nothing but a plague towards humanity. Developing "friendships" that are false in nature simply to attain a position at a company or to try to talk to everyone you can on Linkedin so you can look socially established. For what? So you can get a job and make more money? Or for power? Such shallow reasons.

I see no soul in such acts and I've chosen to avoid engaging in such. Rather than strive to use nepotism or engage in the 'social game' I've chosen to separate myself from all of this and just trade the stock market. It's not hard to be successful, there is no need for social dynamics and all social connections i make outside of trading are true.

Anons, think for yourselves, you're not forced to do anything, be honest with yourself about what you like/dislike and being true to this will allow you to take your life in whatever direction you choose.

this is why you should build strong connections in blockchain, T-o-D-A-y

what you don't know is you are mostly being dumped on consistently.

small 2-3x's are bait to get 75% out from whales.

things are right in front of you about to 50x, like BSK (bidesk exchange) but you'll sell for a 3x because you "don't know when to sell" and "gains are gains"

however, the back streets are where the money is.

start cold calling. start with BDK.

They do so because it comes off as marginalizing their accomplishments as if they couldn't do it on their own. Hanging out on this board and learning to invest and about wealth, you learn that wealth generation is a team effort. But society (who obviously doesn't know shit about wealth) doesn't treat it that way. They want people to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps to do it on their own. You're scorned or written off for receiving help otherwise.
