That bears long term economic problems. Money seems to be flowing up, so stressing an already stressed economy may be too much and cause political and other implications that could be very bad for the government.

People are buying on debt so much because they literally cannot afford things. Another QE would just mean MORE consumer debt expenditure, probably more business debt expenditure too, unless people finally pull their heads out of their rears and realize the long term implications of such unwise decisions.

We're at peak dollar valuations now, with nothing to show for it. The sudden drop in short term interest rates are a last ditch effort to ease the corporate debt burden. As long term interest rates drop, existing bonds will gain value. But if equities drop faster, many corporations will go underwater and it will be too little too late. Powell will have to sharply devalue the dollar by hiking interest rates on treasuries to fix the economy (re-normalizing the yield curve), just like Paul Volcker did in the early 1980s.

I agree the Chinese are exploiting the hell out of this. They want to expand the surveillance and authority state, and cull the weak and old burdens. Less mouths to feed especially since all their hogs died.

>>17480297
Yeah but if you’re critically ill you go to be hospital and get out on a respirator and monitored. Unless you can’t get an ambulance and your whole family is too sick to help you get there.

The point is, once the stop loss is triggered, the stock quickly reverses, causing you to panic buy at a higher price. This is literally what algos do, how they operate successfully, and how the rich have slowly siphoned off billions from the middle class since the 80's. But I would just keep it in mind in the future, I'm sure eventually you'll notice one of your stop losses will get triggered, and then the next day it will recover 5%+ of it's losses. Well my biggest recommendation is to immediately put a sell order in for a ridiculous price like 20x. This takes your shares out of consideration as active shares, making them unavailable to shorters. Then, there isn't much you can do to circumvent algo trading, except have price targets in mind. Even if you do want to have a stop loss, I'd just try to keep an eye on the share price once it's anywhere close to it and sell then, basically be your own stop loss. But ultimately as a retail investor all you can do is not fuel them with shares to short or stop losses to target.

I'll do a homer's first-last.
1. "just fucking dying" is ignoring the fact that we've had huge improvements to healthcare, not to mention tech. That's called "technological deflation". Go look it up. It means you need to work fewer hours to get a HIGHER level of care.
2. I'm calling the bailout of higher ed student loans socialism, and the government helping people pay for healthcare either through subsidies like medicare or "healthcare for all". These programs will only make things worse. Soon you'll be raising the minimum wage by $5 a year and we'll all wonder where we went wrong.
3. If we were on the gold standard I know things would be different. I know that we could TRACK the increase or decrease of our pay, so that maybe we would be making less wages in gold, but that should be offset by the technological deflation that i mentioned above. as it is now, we're making LESS and the equity that our society has realized in technological advances has somehow evaporated (actually it's just gone to the elites)

because this happened in the area where they found the case that they can't track the origin.

which means it's out there already, in california. people flying on planes, and then when they get symptoms they haven't been to china so they don't go to the hospital right away. they act like they have a cold which is a big fucking deal. in a few days we'll have 10,000 people at the hospital, anon.

Chart wise it's more similar to the July/August 2011 drop in terms of speed and lack of pausing for a breather period. $1344 drop to $1101, -18%, in twelve days. Only one green day in the eleven day plunge, day 12 set the low and started the recovery bounce in a single session.

nope democrats have to split and republicans have to split too... we're not going to have a labor party and a #bigGovernment party like the uk conservatives... we're going to end up with our fiscal conservatives, and our hawks, but the democrats can't actually do shit with out a senate Trump has already stacked the courts.

I'll be honest, the judicial branch of the government is why republicans got behind trump... we didn't want more spending, but we wanted laws respected in the context to when the law was written.... changing laws is ok too, but we have to go through the process.

There is potential to drop a further 5-10% or so without interruption. You could skip out to cash if you're worried but I don't recommend entering short here. There is no way to know where the bottom of this leg will be, and when things bounce they can bounce hard. Like 5%+ in a day kinda bounce. Difficult to time.

bros, I have some UVXY calls i bought, exipiration is Jan 2021. Bought them so I can short UVXY when shit hits the fan, but did not realize how much it's decays over the time. If we go more and more down, is it still gonna go up? It's lower then VIX at the moment, which I find strange as UVXY is 1.5 leveraged, so i would expect it to make bigger moves relative to VIX. Can anyone try to explain this to the brainlet please? Basically, I'm asking if it's technically possible for UVXY to still go to let's say 50+ if the market is going further down or I should use this opportunity and sell the options (I mentally written this position off as a loss because UVXY was very close to the split but I'm sort of break even now). T-thanks frens
