Think about it like this: if you bought at the bottom of 2009 and sold at the top of 2019, you got 500% gains in ONE DECADE.
If this is the big one, yes, you wait. But remember that everyone else is waiting too and still remembers the game from last time. The closer you get to the bottom, the better, but have to balls to buy and hold on the chance that it continues to fall. I plan to buy back into the sp500 index over time to minimize this. I won't Max gains but I don't care, I don't have millions

This last recovery was BULLSHIT money pumping so I would not expect to get it all back in 5 years like last time. Literally all they had to do in 2008 was hold for 5 years and it all came back to the same level.
