The people not selling are bag holders who know the market will easily recover within the next 10 years and that all they're looking at is a temporary de-valuation.

The smartest thing to do as a bag holder at this point is to dollar cost average your way down to the bottom so you're getting some cheapies, presuming we don't enter into some black swan event mad max nuclear hellscape or something, in which case you should also buy silver / gold / ammo / food.

Where everyone sees chaos. I see a perfect opportunity to BUY LOW and SELL HIGH. You need to have the investor mindset. See the patterns. When prices of stocks go down. You need to buy.

Today I bought;
Disney
Netflix

Theranos
Air France
Delta
Washington Mutual
Carnival Cruises
Nintendo
Exon
Enron
Beyond meat
Texaco
Uber

You average people will never... CAN never understand the INVESTOR mindset. You think like sheep. Sell when you're told, buy when you're told. The true INVESTOR sees through it.

Hahahaha, you fucking retard.
The entire fucking world is in debt.
The 1% are fucking the entire world and no one can afford shit. Wages have stagnated for about 40 fucking years. Retail has gone down the absolute shitter and while middle class population is below replacement levels because they can't afford to raise kids.
Entire economies are literally built on people LARPing as the Monopole man IRL trading houses with each other.
Turns out that when CEO's dump all their money into gambling (sorry, the stock market) and everyone else struggles just to afford mortgage and rent that it's not really great for the economy since no one can actually buy shit.
This is fairly obvious to anyone with a brain, it's literally just 1st grade math.
But congrats on boot licking the elitists heels while they hold your head under the ocean of piss that finally managed to "trickle down" to the middle class.

That's because you don't understand that fictitious capital created from speculation has to be supported by the real economy in terms of production & distribution.
An epidemic of disease is one of the fastest possible ways to get huge sectors of production temporarily shut down to prevent spread. It's about the restricted movement. No production for even a short period of time has a massive compounding effect because all economic sectors are interlinked globally in massive and fragile supply chains.

China has halted production in a big part of the country; in other places production is slowing, this means that future profit forecasts look awful, if you look at some of the drops for Q1 2020 it's insane when you consider that the global economy has already been on life support since 2008 essentially. What do you think firms do when they see a profits forecast for Q2-Q4 not even coming close to making up the shortfall in Q1? They realise that profitability is down and become even more hesitant to invest in production than before. Why the fuck do you think that firms spend all their excess capital pumping stock markets with buybacks and not investing in actual production? Because they already know the profit rates are too low.
This isn't something that can be solved with any amount of fiscal or monetary policy because it's something that stops the actual material production in the real economy. Nobody is going to fucking invest if this virus is shutting down even the ability to produce in the first place let alone realize a profit. What happens to a house of cards if the bottom row suddenly dissappears?

they buy when things have crashed 50%, thinking surely it can't crash more, then it crashes 90% more

Who said anything about Communism? I'm explaining part of Capitalism. What these elites (or kikes, whatever you want to believe the ruling class is) won't ever tell you is that profit leads investment; they instead practice the retarded synthesis of neoclassical + keynesian economics that is contemporary orthodox econ that says the opposite, that investment leads profit.

Capitalism has cycles, everyone fucking understands this, but when it comes to crisis theory these fuckers put the causality backwards because saying that investment leads profits basically implies that cycles of capital can continue infinitely and that the potential for profitability is infinite. Anyone can obviously see that isn't true; the world is finite. This leads to them coming up with a retarded explanation for crises that amounts to LITERALLY talking about "the animal spirits of investors" aka they didn't feel like it. This is a complete mystification of the real economy.

It's really fucking simple, if you have capital, you're looking to maximize profits so you will look at profit rates across all sectors and look for the best investment that has the highest chance of realizing a return with the highest profit rate. Then you will invest in the entire production process hoping to profit at the end of the cycle upon realization. If investment led profit, then there wouldn't be any reason for capital to look for the most profitable sectors because profit rates would equalize proportionally to the mass of capital invested which basically denies that competition exists. Because they have this retarded idea they have 0 explanation for the actual causal mechanism in falling profitability that leads to crisis other than their dumb animal spirits thesis.

Now if you want to get into the Crisis Theory of other economic schools; unironically Marxism has the best explanation but that's about how Capitalism works and doesn't have anything to do with what could come after. Death is my bet

If one wants to learn about economics, they should stop listening to the shills that work for the (((elites))) and instead look into someone like Anwar Shaikh who has books constructing an economic framework that relies on none of the presuppositions of any school and reflects upon all Schools from Classical to Marxian. You will need at least some education in Math & Statistics but he has whole courses on youtube recorded where he's taught classes his book that explains things in very concise ways. You don't need to know any technical stuff apart from maybe taking an intro to Econ class.

NEVER sell ya fag.
Investing is like the casino. You only invest what you can AFFORD TO LOSE. If you make 100k a year, you can put 5-10k away every year in high dividend stocks etc. You never even have to look at it.
Buy more every year within that budget. Over time you will have the dividend yield and the stock value increase as well, and if things are down, oh well that was your casino fun money.
At times like this, you are just going to buy more within your budget and accumulate more because things are costing less. If you do this for 25 years you will end up a millionaire having never actually sold anything.
Its a bit more complex than that, but basically if you only invest money you don't care about losing, you will never panic sell and just accumulate. Its how the jews always win.

Nobody knows, but that recession was for real because of the loans and people giving out bad loans and faking them. This one MIGHT be bad, but if it's just l like SARS it will blow over in a year and youll be rich if you bought the dip.
If it mutates and lasts 20 years and 5% of the world dies, yeah that's an issue.
Buy smart. Keep savings and buy when things are low.

Nobody knows if it's going to be the "big one" or really what the big one is, the final crisis that leads to something new won't be understood until after it's happened. The Global economy never recovered from 08, we've been in a stagnation period since then and we only survived 08 because China kept profit rates high through insane state spending on a scale that has never been seen before to weather the storm. This is going to be big. See pic related for a short list of the state of the economy right now. If you want some light reading you might want to check out blogs like thenextrecession or theplanningmotive. It's complete bullshit you're correct. Anyone who uses common sense can see that it's bullshit. It's just reheated Keynesianism which caused the crises of the 70s. Quantitative Easing is basically a form of MMT (they admit this, they say MMT explains how the economy works right now) and it has done fucking nothing.

The only countries that can actually benefit from MMT are countries like the US and they can only do so because they can run up massive deficit spending because so many other countries own their bonds & currencies in reserve, in addition to the petrodollar.

Japan tried to use MMT and it hasn't worked. Japan is important because they're basically already in recession again, and after their crash in the 90s they were in the same stagnation period the rest of us are in now. If you want to look to the future, Japan is a good indicator because they have more advanced problems than the rest of us (even regarding /pol/s favourite bugbears like the great replacement; what people don't tell you about that is that the actual concern isn't white children but the rate of workforce participation; looking after old people is the biggest growing industry in the world)

Michael Roberts, who is the guy who writes https://thenextrecession.wordpress.com/ absolutely hates MMT and has a big series of articles shitting on MMT (and also one recently about Japan: https://thenextrecession.wordpress.com/2020/02/19/japan-abenomics-revisited/))

Just search on his site for his MMT articles. You can find critiques of it everywhere. Long story short once you absord the excess demand with massive spending to ensure full employment, you might temporarily boost the economy but when everyone is employed there is a huge upward pressure on wages and other countervailing tendencies. There are also some good videos like the one by this guy:

Cheers lad, you might also be interested in some of the others. Honestly Shaikh & his contemporaries really helped me start to understand economics and I wouldn't even consider myself a Communist. In my view, Smith, Ricardo + Marx all have a throughline as the canon of the discipline of Classical Economics and the reason why Marx gets denounced is because he fully developed the conclusions of Smith & Ricardo into the practical reality of politics. It's not even a conspiracy that after Smith & Ricardo, every other economists backpedalled to defend the emerging ruling class because it's simple material interest; they were getting their cheques written by those people. What you have now is just an evolution of that, an entire system of sycophants who speak a lot but never actually say anything.

Ricardo made 1 major change to Adam Smiths Labour Theory of Value, Marx then just slightly expanded Ricardo's definition. It's never been debunked, has tons of empirical evidence behind it and makes perfect coherent sense if you bother to understand it. Smith & Ricardo saw this unfolding in real time in the earlier developments of the Capitalist Mode of Production and based their theories on the real economy as it actually exists not some bullshit desert island idealism. Paul Cockshott is good on this, he has a youtube channel and a few good books that actually explain things in practical terms with empirical evidence, including the LTV.

I'm a pretty dumb guy who left school at 16 and worked shitty jobs and I can understand this shit if it's just explained in plain english.

You know Marx wrote a book about the Jewish Question right? He himself was anti-semetic because that was just a pretty common attitude at the time, but he formed an actual analysis of why the Jews are seen like that. It's true that there are Jewish segments of the Bourgeoisie, but the Class itself transcends that, the mechanisms of Capitalist, just like with Fuedalism or Slave societies beyond that are the dominant factor. Honestly in my view, which might not be popular around some parts is that reducing everything to the Kikes is a form of cope that actively stops you from understanding reality and so it ends up cucking you. One can hate jews as much as they like but if they spend all their time hyperfocused on that they're leaving themselves vulnerable by people who wish to mislead them away from truth. Why do you think the entire far-right regularly collaborates with Israel? Because they want the same thing, the White Porkies + the Kike Porkies
