That's because he is mandated to fulfill the bell curve of life.

10% suck, 80% in the middle, 10% awesome

Get over yourself and accept this truth.

Noisy wheels get the grease but they also fall off faster.

Locked up wheels get replaced quickly.

The middle goes on forever.

Honestly tho, management makes bank and my soup n manager says im on track to being a soup myself so I'm buying into the meme. And, at the very least, this proves to myself why I believe socialism is a failure since it makes me not want to try as hard knowing the guy who browses reddit all day during work hours gets compensated as much as me. i wanna be director one day so i can tell my managers to give reign to the supervisors and divide it up based on performance. and if it all goes to shit and i am being lied to, i got other options and this fortune 500 company looks good on my resume

Here's how you tell if you actually mean something to the company or if they are just patting you on the back to make you're overall cost of labor lower.
>Apply to other companies until you find one that pays better.
>Get offer for said job.
>Approach bossman and tell him about said offer.
>Be firm and tell him to offer better pay or you walk.

If you get approved, you get a much deserved raise.
If you are still denied, you know the company didn't actually think highly of you at all and get a new job with that much deserved raise.

Work in Texas.
I got an offer to move out to California.
Told my boss.
He punched the offer into a cost of living calculator.
Proceeded to get an 8k bump in my salary.
A year later I did this again.
Got denied and moved on to another job.
Enjoying another 5k bump to my salary.

Sorry to be a contrarian, but I have worked with some pieces of shit who think that going outside the box means you're trying to usurp them. So this can be a good thing.

Also been in situations where I had to make a decision where the person was away and wouldn't have been able to make it. When I called them on the phone, they came to the same conclusion that I did and thanked me for saving everyone's time in the office. Later when they got back, gay little lecture about how I'm not the decision maker. People are insecure as fucking shit.

People dont just automatically retire because their old enough to.

My factory had to pay off a huge amount of old fucks that wouldnt retire last year with 5 digit bonuses (on top of their normal retirement benefits) to finally get them out the door and get young muscle in.

Also, their boss cant force them to retire. He either has to give them an incentive (like my factory) or fire them, which fucks up their benefits.

If everyone at your job wants to retire as soon as theyre eligible, you hit a jackpot that isnt reflective of todays workforce
