If you must buy calls they need to be LEAPS. I would never advice somebody to expose themselves to expiration dates and theta in an environment like this. Nobody has a crystal ball, there are only the charts to go by. It may go back up this week or it may be lower next year, nobody really knows. Your best shot is try to position yourself as well as you can. Buy some on each dip and sell the retracements just don't sell it all so you have something when it finally does go back up.

Here's my guess other than gold was already overpriced as fuck when you bought it at the ATH, people are starting to believe that they cannot cling to a safehaven and need to go liquid to service their debts, buy food etc as they are no longer making gains on the stockmarket. Or they see everyone else jumping out of the market and demanding cash so they are going liquid so they have lots of cash in a high cash demand environment where they might look to buying cheap investments. I mean there are plenty of reasons to not buy gold at the ATH desu. I've been selling gold buying silver and the selling of gold has worked out but not so much of the buying of silver (yet). I suppose lack of industrial demand for silver might be a factor too with places closing down in asia.

Which means as it goes up, there will be massive sell offs of paper gold. Be patient, zoom out. Guys, be realistic. Corona has ALREADY disrupted most companies Q1 earnings, and taken a chomp out of productivity for Q2.

The market was way overweight and this has been talked about for some time now, it is only a routine dump, with the added weight of a pandemic scare.

Whether or not Corona is the real deal is irrelevant, this market WILL freefall in either scenario.

Nothing wrong with holding Viacom especially if you got the shares cheaply thanks to the Virus. Consider: even post re-merger they are still a mid cap company, room for growth there.
