I don't see this in any way positive, crypto was supposed to be an antagonist to stocks, seems like it moves just the same way, which makes it a total shit investment in comparison - 90% down, no recovery in sight, much higer risk, much lower liqudity, no regulation against insider trading and the like, no dividends. In short, it sucks ass

Exactly - i am also sick that people make a blanket assumption the halvening will actually bring about proportional uplift in price when it's fundamentally expected by the market and an investment 101 fact historical prices and patterns are not a good indicator of future performance. Talk about fuckin "priced in". What a shit basket to put all your eggs into

>> No.17427605

>>17427565
The last halvening was also priced in at 800. Went up from a stable 600. Then a couple months after the halvening, the rally began.

The supply is going to be reduced drastically and the demand is waiting in the sidelines. Bitcoin is almost mainstream and there are millions of people waiting for the next rally.

So we might be priced in at 12-15k at the time of halvening, but the rally will eventually kickstart and this is going to be the biggest one of them all.

there were no futures back then, this time it actually can be priced in, and it will be that's the whole point of futures - to price in future price action

Halving will be a major MAJOR dissapointment for those who expect 2017 to repeat itself and once that sinks in the slow and steady decline will commence. If BTC is no good for payments, store of value or anything else really, when you take away the only thing making it attractive - the gains - that's the end of it.

Blah blah blah, you're obviously intent on seeing everything positively. BTC isn't at 12-15k, it's at 9.5k and we aren't that far away. You then say normies are going to get in at some point - normies don't know about this shit. People who do have already made their move on the market

Things change, proportions change, exposure changes, and there are scales to these things. More millions of people were burnt during the last crash than ever before. That pump was historic in proportion and exposure and btc lost a lot of legitimacy during the last crash.

And how much further along is btc as an actual currency, a technology, a currency, a blockchain since then? What relevance has it gained?

This is not 2017 anymore, dunce

If you bought LINK a month ago you're still up.
If you bought BTC in December youre still 50% up.

Next rally the board will be filled with green wojaks and smug pepes like this never happened.

If you look at any other crypto site, board, community, whatever..there aren't reactions like this. Its calm. Most people here are neets gambling with food money, or students gambling with their loans.

Look, the heart of your daydream is an historical pattern which you claim is an inevitability and is readily observed and reported

How do you think an open market might treat a supposed inevitability that is readily observable? Do you believe you are the only ones who have realised this pattern? Are you suggesting such growth will always be inevitable? No matter how big the market gets? That there is no scale or quantity or natural point of correction or plateau? No matter how many normies jump on board only to sell after the dump when rich folk start significant profit-taking?

You'd have to be the only one aware of this shit to make any money off it and that is fundamentals of a marketplace, you dumbass
