COVID-19 might become the 5th seasonal flu if it can not be completely eradicated. Just like the other 4 seasonal colds/flus, COVID-19 will also alter its genetic sequence and become immune to antivirus. So an annual culling of 2% of the population is predictable.

it will kill maybe 10-15% of elderly, others, way less
it will cause a great deal of disruption. flights. hotels, events, all fkd.
it should disappear (theoretically) over summer
it might mutate into something even more deadly, by which stage, all bets are off

it's just another strain of flu, I have done some research, more people die from traffic accidents!

>> No.17427188

I was talking to my dad about corona, he's a retired economist. He said these days we have really great logistics, because it costs businesses money to hold inventory, so they have arranged it so stock and parts they need arrive just in time, and ship back out the door quickly in a lot of industries. He suggested that if various parts of the world go into lock down (and China is basically the worst possible country to do that, as it manufactures so much of the world's products) then these logistic chains are going to get upset, and it could have a cascading effect. Suppose you can get 95% of the parts you need to build something on time but the other 5% are delayed or you can't get them at all. 95% of a product is not a product. One concern is pharmaceuticals because a large amount of raw materials for pharmaceuticals are made in China.

I said SARS fatality rate was 10%, MERS was 36%, corona is about 3%, he sent me this saying the problem with COVID-19 is that it's infecting a hell of a lot more people https://twitter.com/search?q=%23COVID2019&src=hash related to the incubation period where people are contagious but don't show symptoms.

The thing about COVID-19 is that because of the low fatality rate, once it becomes impossible to contain, the quarantines end. No use trying to keep something spreading that's already spread.

I think we're going to have a huge hiccup in the first quarter but after that we should be able to return to status quo. Prices on everything will likely rise to counter low supplies

yes i will be called some filthy socialist anti-capitalist but seriously, this freakout is retarded. the world is already overpopulated. everyone already has too much debt and consumer goods. all the wagies are overworked, stressed. maybe we need a little break. maybe we need this outbreak. culling. it's only seen as a problem because the chink workhorse is impacted. imagine if this shit hit africa and only killed africans. much of the world would be celebrating and we would face a huge economic boom after their demise.

>oh nooooo, chink-made electronics aren't getting made and delivered to germany so they can get put inside unnecessary new audi and bmw cars to be sold back to rich chinks in toronto anyway

Then where does that lead. You can either keep your orders for the 95% coming in or you can hold them because you don't have room or don't want to overextend your finances. Then that shit backs up the level behind you. Holy shit....
