I don't really blame you for feeling this way. I guess I don't know enough about the accusations of forged signatures etc.

To me, it stands out as contrary to someone's character who went out of his way to take steps to remain in legality, i.e. alerting the ATO ahead of time of tax implications of Bitcoin he mined before anyone knew what it was, etc.

But I agree. If he did forgrme transfer of ownership documents, that'd obviously be a red flag for which he could be liable.

oh the signatures (along with a whole bunch of other shit) are inarguably, indisputably forged. I'm sure he's got an excuse. he's got an excuse for everything. JUST, none of them very believable.
I might also take issue with your recollections of who said what and when to the ATO. However, as I believe creg left Australia with some urgency the last time they wished to speak to him, and the matter is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation, well. Wouldn't want to prejudice Dr Wrights case. Assuming he even has one, which I doubt very, very much

Ok, the forging of signatures is really the last element for which I am ambivalent. I admit I don't know enough to make a rational decision.

Part of the problem for me is that a lot of the accusations that get levied at Craig are demonstrably false or obvious shit-posts. So I think I may overcompensate by throwing some of the baby out with the bathwater.

I personally feel that his involvement in the creation of bitcoin is undisputable, and the he is indeed Satoshi, the primary force behind its creation and development. But he is continuously chided for that claim. So I may be overlooking some legitimate critiques of him as a result of the sheep who just echo the reddit chamber.

I'll do some more research. Thanks
anon.

Another thing is that his knowledge and ability to explain complex concepts is unmatched. I haven't found anyone online who can cover the subject with as much breadth and scope as he. So maybe I subconsciously tip the scales in his favor because of how eloquent is understanding and expression of the network is.

I also like his goals and aims. Like if you take out the personal vitriol people have for him and just look atthe arguments from each camp, the main positives for BTC are that the smaller blocks keep the system more robust by making it less susceptible to statist efforts to dismantle it.

I respect that. But as much as I can get behind the logic to it, it becomes an impediment to the simplicity of transactions.

Imagine if everyone had to walk around with payment processors in order to use debit cards just so that our funds could not be seized by banks.

I am more open to the idea of which big block network has the best chance to bring bitcoin forward into mainstream credibility. And this is coming from someone who has literally only spent two weeks or so reviewing materials. I think the answer is obvious.

That, and I also personally get satisfaction out of being right when the commonly held view is clearly wrong.

>> No.17390625

>the signatures are [...] inarguably, indisputably forged.

I do think that Craig is someone who has made painstaking efforts to remain lawful, from being an advocate against anonymity to informing the Tax Authority on his holdings. The Timeline of Craig Wright on youtube by the user Bitcoin and Beyond explains the timeline.

I see Craig as someone who made personal sacrifice and extreme efforts to release bitcoin in a way which would avoid legal takedowns and it just strikes me as utterly inconsistent that someone who would be that forward-thinking would create culpability by stealing from the one person who he claimed was there for him and then alert the family of Dave's involvement. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but on the surface, it seems unlikely.

I appreciate you sharing ideas with me. I don't want to see only one side succeed. I want success even for people with whom I disagree. I hope you are right for your sake, bud! Cheers.

I don't know if your mental capacity is high enough to understand:

Why should I. What, may I ask, am I to gain in return? You see, it is a contract negotiation, and you have little or nothing I desire. Sorry, but so is the entirety of the scenario. Informational asymmetry allows me to have some level of consideration that I can exchange. What are you offering for it?

Gavin knows I have the early keys. What does it matter?

If I choose to sign for some and not others, it is my choice. I could, but it would require something I value in return, and it is not money.

If I sign, the next attack is simple: I stole the keys. No matter what I do, there is no path from PoSM (proof of social media) to acceptance for me. Bitcoin is the mirror of what I see, a world of work. We are stewards to wealth. We do not own it, it owns us, and we have to sacrifice daily to make the information flow to retain the right, not the privilege to help maintain the plumbing that is the conduit of life.

More, it does not matter. All that does is what is created.

Like this post for example. I am not saying you are wrong, but I just don't feel that he has displayed contempt for the courts or a lack of knowledge about law. On the contrary, I think he has a broad understanding of law and especially the intersection of law and economics.

But your points are nevertheless received.

This is the most logical explanation. I would not have had thenpatience were I Satoshi. I would have succumbed to the instinct to defend myself when I was in a position to be defeatednlater if I did so. I think this is Satoshi's Vision. But it is not a selfish vision. I think if Craig wanted what was best for himself these things would have gone differently. But it's my feeling that he wants what's best for the world, and that is what has been his test.

Craig has also made me want to re-examine my relationship with rules. I am pretty dismissive of rules because of the way that they can be manipulated to facilitate desired results. So I've never placed much faith in them to begin with, relying instead on my own moral composition which I found to be more structurally sound, even if allowing for some personal bias. But Craig also is making me want to revisit how I personally engage with rules. That's why I like his informational asymmetry explanation. I've noticed less gut distrust of rules as I've learned more and more about the true bitcoin protocol which shows that rules can enforce justice, and in such a world, informational asymmetry becomes much more valuable.

In other words, truth.

Not reddit tier really, you are closer than most.
He is Satoshi Nakamoto in a similar way to that he is Australian, he just might so happen to hold the keys to their castle.

that's literally the most unrealistic bullshit I've ever heard

>Yet, a warning to all. Satoshi was a vision, but Craig is a man. The two are not equal, not equivalent, not even close. Which is why the team aspect is so important to understand, something the world will not appreciate for some time. It is true that Craig is the larger part of the genius behind the team, but he could not have done it alone.
>Nor - as a warning - is the man the vision. Not even close. As you come to know Craig you will discover he is no legend, no God, no saviour. He's just a guy, a prickly one at that, he's a lot like those very difficult geek/nerd/blatherers that turn minor IT support into a social drama. In short, Craig is human, in that very way that Satoshi could never be.

>you think bsv isn't bleeding cash?

I do think they are bleeding cash. But that is a strong signal. They don't care because they are preparing for the things that have not yet come to be. I see it as a strong sign the amount they are willing to burn to build the network for good this time.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
