I have been renting out some crawlspaces to desperate people, why hasn't anyone thought about this before? Just do some digging, add some paneling an voila! A nice, comfy millennial nest for two or three people. Plumbing and electricity is also easy to do and surrounding soil keeps the place pretty warm even in winter. Separate latch for entry, normal doors don't really fit. I only rent to short people so I can keep the digging and renovation to minimum and profits to max.

kek. I know you're joking but I had a friend that legit lived like this. he literally had to crawl underneath the house on his belly and drag himself to an underground "room" that used to be part of a basement that was no longer accessible due to past renovations. rent was cheap though.
