What are your considerations regarding 22k (e.g. krugerrand) vs 24k (e.g. maple leaf) coins? Do 999.9 coins really get damaged so easily if you take them out of their casing?
On the one hand I'd say a more durable coin is more practical, but otoh if the metal is softer you can more easily subdivide it with pliers.

i would never take them out of their casings unless we go full mad max. just store them appropiately. i only hold 999.9 gold because they are easier to sell.

i would also recommend to buy bars bigger or equal than one ounce to buy close to spot.

If u only used money for buying your krugerrands, which u do not need atm. Then u are right.
Before u buy pms u wanna pay off all your debts, then hold a small fiat money reserve for your daily live and potential repairs like e.g dishwasher ect.
To conserve your wealth for years and decades go in gold.
I believe ,that gold will rise in his price but how high in which timeframe idk, but u shopuld always have some savings in gold as insurance.

I'm picking a little bit out of my savings to pay for it - but I see that, technically, as a transfer of wealth from one asset to another.

I currently have an easy 2nd "consulting job", but for how long I don't know. My mindset was to pay this off with that money as quickly as possible. I'm not really in debt at all either, so I think it was good.

This puts me at 10 oz of gold total - which I think is a good place to stop. Do you stack (or tend to) stack higher then that? What would you aim for?
