I'm going to inherit a flat worth ~£500k todays price my bro also. The rest (lest say ~£2MM) will be spent so my parents can enjoy their life, Dad retired @ 50 (15 years ago) either him or Mum will live for another 30 years or so. They need to go out into the world & enjoy themselves, while they are still able bodied.
Even @ decent care home rates (£50k/year each) they will just get by till they are gone.

I'm the oldest of three and the most fucked both career wise and personally, can't into how society has become. My Dad went into real estate, went -400k in the whole when the 08' recession hit, and had to play poker just to avoid losing the house. Now he got everything paid off along with 12 rental properties and 3 companies. I'm his only child after a shitty divorce and he doesn't want to get remarried again and lose his accumulated wealth to some whore so it's all going to me eventually. Now he just chills at home, smokes weed everyday, and maybe works 10 hours a week of real estate work while collecting passive income.

My dad, before he abandoned us 15 years ago, was a well to do stand up person. I’m not sure what made him leave.

The absolutely best thing I can do now is make it, pull up in my Mercedes, knock on his door, and show him that I didn’t need him and that my step dad was a way better dad than he will ever be.

That is why I dint have generational wealth. However, my parents provided me with a very comfortable lifestyle.

They did, but consciously don't share through other means than taking us on holiday or for nice dinners regularly. It's a core belief of our family that it should be truly shameful to have to ask for alms. I've also been told to expect nothing in inheritance, my father would rather blow it on cocaine than give any of his children fuck all outside of the odd help with rent if truly in a pickle. He's also a huge spender overall because he doesn't like amassing a fortune he won't know what to do with (hence regular travelling on his expense).
