Let's get some insider information flowing, /biz/.

I work for a machine tool builder. I know all our japanese guys got pulled from China and went back to Japan roughly 3 weeks ago. Here in the states/south america we have only sold roughly 66% of what we did the previous year. We have tons of machines still in stock and selling at huge discounts compared to what we sold a year ago. I'm pretty sure we will have recession within a year. I just hope we get bonuses at the end of march.

I wonder if your HR department's got someone watching if those Japanese guys start taking sick days in the next couple weeks.

How big's a 33% drop in sales for you relative to normal fluctuations? Were 2017-2018-2019 sales numbers only change a few %?

>> No.17286123

I think last year we were +20-25% vs 2018, this year we will be -30-35% vs last year.

Since 2012 I think it's been consistently trending upwards.
Prices on our machines I'd say are roughly 20% lower than a year ago and I'd bet that's pretty consistent across the industry

>We had a $3,000 deal planned out before Chinese new years, the supplier was emailing me everyday before trying to get me to place the order but I was not able to complete it in time. Generally Chinese new years only pauses sales in China for a week or two. I still have not heard back from them.

I wish I was a neet. I have over 100k debt from being a degenerate gambler and paying out of state tuition. I should be done paying it off in 5 years or less but I'm living paycheck to paycheck until then. Currently making 70k pre bonus but jobs got some good perks and pretty low stress.

Yeah, hearing about Foxconn only being able to rally like 10% of its migrant workforce prompted me to make this thread.

A defense subcontractor, so our shit's all sourced in the good old US of A (and no way in hell any of us would be visiting China).

You will run into trouble if LINK's hooked into any Chinese blockchain products, or if Sergey's waistline is reliant on Chinese food.

work in defense subcontracting industry. My CEO has been in the industry for over three decades, and he says he hays never seen this volume of work before. I've been working consistent OT for over a year. Two possible reasons for increased output that are not mutually exclusive:
1) Dollar strength running out so they are front loading production.
2)Large scale war coming soon.

They still haven't posted the oxygen machine I ordered. Might order a soccer ball to see if it comes. Pretty sure they're all dead already.
