I’ve been here for some years and bought a minuscule amount of link at .18 cents because of the memes.

After reading more into it and what not, I realized there’s no gucking reason for the token to be there, especially with a magic 1billion number in circulation with the majority of the token being held by the team, and it still is.

That said, I’m really happy for you linkies. I never bought more and never will, but the sheer strength that you all apply to this meme token makes it go so fucking hard in the market, it is truly amazing. I hope many of you who were there when the time was darkest at sub 50 cents make it out of this with a good little bag. No matter how shit I think the fundamentals are, there is no denying the hype train that this is generating.
My only advice would be to close your positions probably within a year-two or so time?

Good luck linkies, this is your time.

>>17264236
This is the wrong way to swing. You need to ask yourself: do you think it will EVER go below 4.11, even during a correction, will it EVER again go below 4.11. If you feel confident in that assessment then you need to have the guts to stick to it. Or you bleed with fomo. The caveat was the google/coinbase double pump. I sold at 1.4 then it dipped and then the announcement happened and I had to buy at 1.65 because this was a real organic pump. It then proceeded to 4.5 and that was correct.

Don't fomo without news. If staking is announced on Tuesday then I will fomo hard at a loss of 10,000 link. If not, then the question is: will it dump/correct below 4.20 ever? I think it will, but even if wrong, I will have no regrets :)

I believ this also. BTC drove it down and it is bullish for it to recover, but given the BTC dominance and the fact that the community has some weird voodoo about 10k, there might be a slow alt coin bleed, but Tuesday will be the real test.

This, I’m amazed at how fast it recovered. I’m not swinging but this whole pump I’ve been expected a retracement. Thought this was gonna be it for sure. Today everything else is red and link is green and fucking going for it. Unreal.

How much of this pump do you think is due to the upcoming talk on Tuesday?

It’s (CURRENT YEAR) and people still don’t realize the valuation of a utility token needs to be tied to said utility it provides to the network and any following speculation of aforementioned utility.
Imagine payments on the network being hindered by another platforms woes...

years from now when you're transferring around serious money you're going to get audited. it's smart to start disclosing some trades and create a trail. you know? you're not going to just magically acquire millions of dollars worth of crypto and convince them you never traded along the way. if you never reported any trades they're going to bend you over.

it's fucking over for swingies. something like this happens and they think they have the upper hand, but in reality their numbers are thin and their conviction in being able to safely swing link is dwindling. they're beginning to panic, and rightfully so.

>> No.17266094

>I realized there’s no gucking reason for the token to be there
Well then you haven’t thought about the problem. The token has 2 reasons for being there,
1. To bootstrap the system and be able to incentivise initial oracle providers and get the system past the decentralised turning point
2. To create a community around the project
3. To make a Sybil attack against Chainlink significantly harder and more costly. If someone wants to attack Chainlink, they have to be willing to buy Chainlink, then attack the system in which time the price of the Chainlink tokens they bought will be significantly less. If the system used ETH then the attack is essentially free.

You might try and argue 1 and 2 are not real reasons because they are social, but social reasons for a token are just as valid as economic reasons.

>> No.17266099

>>17264239
No, you're wrong. The 'Bed and breakfast' rule states that if you sell and then buy back the same asset within 30 days, the base cost in the CGT calculation will be what he first sold it for rather than when he first bought it. Since he bought back in for about the same price as he sold it, the gain will be pretty much £nil so will be well below the £12,500 so nothing to declare.
