You either dumb her straight away or try to communicate. And with communicate I mean to start slowly and make her understand the values and opinions you have.
For example, when my gf and I got started dating, she used to go clubbing with a friend of her from time to time. Instead of being the asshole trying to control her, I went with her a few times, and let her see what I see. Basically that most clubs are huge mating chambers from my perspective and most guys I know only go there to look for a random roastie to fuck. Really not a place where someone in a stable relationship should usually be.

Well, you might never be able to change her completely, but how about you start slow?
Instead of just buying her some stupid present, take some time and create something for her.
What I did once for example, was putting up a small "escape room" for my gf on her birthday. She came home and had to solve a few puzzles to find her present (which really wasn't expensive), else she would get "tickled to death".
