it's not even correct, if you dig up shit from Maker's subreddit you can see them considering chainlink. i dont give too much of a fuck to actually give a source though so whatever. i just remember it because i recall Rune being adamant against using chainlink before, that their solution is sufficient for them, but then i see them "considering" using chainlink. dunno what spurred the change of mind but yeah

while I do find it absurd that the price is over $4 with almost no usage..
If I'm a wall street fag who is going to pump Billions of dollars into automatic payments based on smart contract inputs... am I not willing to pay a few cents per contract to validate inputs and make them immutable?
In the other case, lets say you use one central database source to assemble a high payout contract. A hacker cracks into that single server, changes the value, and awards himself $1 million of your money, since he can't target the distributed ETH network. with LINK, that same infrastructure is used to securely grab inputs from as many sources as your use case requires security for. Hackerman now has the problem of trying to crack 12 servers with various architectures and security policies.
While arguably they need LINK, MakerDao's risk per transaction is lower, and link is not a battle hardened system. no one has attacked it so who knows if it even works?

you mean the 1000 LINK per week across all nodes combined for BTC/USD calls? (transactions chart count includes all tx, not just contracts )
