I bought this shit sub $1, made a killing after the Nano rebrand. Back then nobody actually gave a fuck about what a project actually did so I never did any research on this. Now that the overall bearish sentiment is over and this shit is still on the floor, shills are coming out again... should I go in for round 2?

I have a couple questions:

1) How are transactions free? Who is bearing the cost of maintaining account ledgers?

2) Is it secure? If so, how secure?

3) Besides being a fast & free currency, what other benefits does it offer, what else can the lattice blockchain provide in terms of utility?

Trust me these are my initial thoughts, I’m curious for explanations to my questions however I’m certain their is no acceptable answers. It sounds like a scam to me.

A completely useless coin.
Not even a scam just an obselete function.
When tokenised commodities are as easily exchanged as an email, there is no need for a third party payment layer.
Sorry, but it's just a terrible terrible project

1) Super light weight protocol. It only costs a node approximately $5 a month to run. NANO does not include any information whatsoever into its ledger except account balances. Not even timestamps are included. It works like one of those ancient number counting machines, where you can move a bead around a metal wire. Each end location could be considered an address, and the nodes simply record the movement of the NANO throughout the network. Each account has its own blockchain as well which is used to record balances and is checked with the network via the nodes

2) Nano has never been hacked. An exchange it was on was hacked, similar to the Mt. Gox situation. However NANO was independently audited by Red4Sec and found to pass with flying colors

3) Microtransactions. Free and fast means NANO can be used like an instant message, an RSS feed, or to monetize digital actions that we currently do not consider worth a divisible unit of currency. (This could be applied to the physical perhaps too one day). I can envision social media networks that associate upvotes or likes (or yous) with monetary value, creating a market for original content or high quality reposts, or wage systems based on caloric expenditure or actions taken rather than an hourly wage (think of an Amazon style warehouse where employees are recorded and paid based on actual work metrics, and the money is instantly deposited every hour or so). Some of these things can be done with other cryptocurrencies, however the ability to completely remove taxes and fees opens up a lot more novel usecases we haven't even really thought of yet. Craig Wright comes kind of close, but misses the mark with wanting to build an entirely new internet. The groundwork is already here. All we have to do is incorporate the existing technologies we already have. NANO is one of the prerequisite tools in order for us to do so. Think of it from a developer's end

Nano is a first layer, unique cryptocurrency of the direceted acyclic graph variety.

Here is the official Wikipedia page for it. I suggest you read up and learn something, because you are obviously either misinformed, or lying.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nano_(cryptocurrency)

By the way, try and find a wikipedia page for any other crypto mentioned here. Link doesn't even have one.
