Wtf, why the sudden uptick? Is it too late to get aboard this rocket?

Also, how safe in general is investing in BTC, as in that your investments don't just vanish to cyber space or get stolen by hackers?

Also, just don’t sell if you’re under. The market goes in cycles, it will come back up. The market is built off of people that panic and sell. This market is a transfer of wealth to the patient :~)

I don't have any bitcoin at all, just wondering, if I should hop on the train with a modest sum (1000 euros or something). It's not really that big amount of money to me but it's still big enough to get pissed off if some hacker steals it, exchange platform collapses or there's a sudden long downturn. Also, in Finland you pay a 20-30 % tax per transaction for selling bitcoin.

But if Corona virus is going global and China goes bust, you'd think Bitcoin value would shoot through the roof.

Very safe, if you create a cold wallet for example. Keeping money in an exchange is a bit risky, but I wouldn't be too scared about it.
Vanishing to cyber space isn't a thing, hackers are a real threat.
Buy Ethereum rather than BTC. If bitcoin's price doubles, Ethereum does at least 4-5x.

So you're saying, that if bitcoin crashes now to 3k, it will have absolutely no effect on ETH?
