you should probably consider getting a job (and if you flip burgers, go to college and get a REAL job) instead of investing. i started my account with $50k and i don't even consider that a lot of money, i thought of it mostly as gambling money even though i learned the market isn't really random once i learned how to read a chart properly.

not trying to be mean but sure, YOLO it in, $400 is nothing. i know nothing about it but assuming it's a penny stock as long as you go long and not short you should be okay (odds are always way better going long instead of short on memes). if you lose you'll probably lose half or $200 but if you win you should be aiming for at least double your money, if not 3x+

When you feel comfortable enough to buy it. There's still risk of further correction, but that shouldn't matter much to you if you're holding it long term as an investment. >crash on monday

why? also it depends on your time horizon, i believe ideally you want to get in on red days and take profit on green days, and today is looking pretty green so far. $48 is a good place to get into AMD long term, $46 is rock bottom and probably won't get there again (because we probably won't get to such high levels of panic as when the coronavirus news first came out, again). so if you were afraid you could take a half position at $48 for AMD and buy another half position at $46. my price target for AMD is in the $55-60 range, i got in around $50 and held through earnings like an idiot but i've since averaged down to $49 and took some profits today at $50 to derisk myself so I'm doing well.

i basically like to buy and sell half of my position over and over while holding the other half for whenever the big pumps come. keeps my average price in a good place usually. might try doing it in 1/3rds at some point.

I don't think that nCoV is going to be that much a problem for AMD, even when everybody else gets fucked, despite China being a big market for them. AMD has no problem selling their shit - their main problem is the limitation of wavers they're getting from TSMC. That's also why they can so consistently meet earnings in the last few quarters since they're selling fucking everything. The only thing that can truly fuck them is TSMC reducing their wafer supply - at least as far as nCoV is concerned.

As long as that doesn't happen, buy any fucking dips you can.

That's fine, though ideally you want to have zero debt, especially if you have the ability to immediately pay it off.

Short term the stock price may rise but long term you're in for a beating. Every single EV Ford produces will lose the company money. They cannot be competitive with Tesla and make money at the same time, their margins are too low for that. They'll have to try to transition to EVs while losing billions on top of their debt. Another thing to keep in mind is that their dealer network refuses to sell EVs because they don't need nearly as much service as ICE which is their primary income. The dealerships will have to further increase the prices just to stay afloat. Ford is unionized as well but EVs require less people on the factory floor. They won't be able to shed jobs fast enough and will lose money there as well while Tesla keeps automating their factories.

Would you seriously want a Mach-e over a Tesla? Do you think the average consumer does? There's zero reason to buy a Ford EV outside of wanting the ability to store wings in your frunk.

Check the number of factories and exporters shut down in China because of the virus. Also, check the situation on the ground. Shanghai is a fucking ghost town. Foxconn is shut down until the 10th at least, and the number of infections grows at a rate that is only limited by the number of diagnoses that can be performed in each infected area.

I think they're QEing for a few more months. Either way, if the virus continues, the manufacturing base in China will collapse, at which point, it all goes down.

Yes, but it won't. Both contagions and death rates are already going down, the only thing keeping this alive is a massive propaganda campaign designed to cover for something else and propagate fear.

QE in the US will keep goin until April, officially, but they can keep it going as long as they want. Europe is doing the same, so is china. There will not be a bear market because there is no place to store value other than hard assets. if you wan't to make some money, there is no other options but stocks, it's all going in there.

I really don't understand some of the people here. They're willing to bag hold a dying company for the chance at returning 10% in three months time, but they won't trade a growth company that can swing 10% in a few days with clear levels of resistance. Volatility shouldn't scare anyone if they're trading properly.

Yeah agreed and I've been a fan of both since I was a kid. I'm going in on both.

Expanding on this. With the QE you loose something like 0.0068% of your dollar a day, that's like 2.9% a year.
At this point you almost have to keep cash in the market. Were sorts fucked that way.

>> No.17130543

you people citing these numbers have never seen death statistics for simple things like influenza virus, heart diseases, cancer or peanut allergies. They are nothing but laughable. Specially when the death rate is so low. Don't let the media jew your brain, do your own research.

Dude are you stupid fren? Look at the chart is going to fill the gap and then who knows where it goes. Are you young? Hold man. Look at any other chart over a year or 5 years. Then know they start launching insta thots up this year.

>> No.17130581

Depends on how you look at the death rate. If you look at it as number of people dead/infected, sure, it's miniscule. But at this point in time a better indicator is the number of people dead/number of people recovered, and it is currently at ~25%, assuming the chink numbers are correct. Also you have around 4,000 people in critical condition.

>> No.17130599

It shouldn't. There is an opportunity cost on everything. Most of the bag holders here still lose money over time. At least with volatility, your capital isn't tied up for long. You're either making money or you got stopped out.

It's not gambling, your point is ridiculous. If you're scared of volatility, just lower the amount that you're risking with any given trade and keep your stop loss tight below lines of major resistance.
