I don't think you should have sold everything. Tesla is still a good long term play and it's always going to be hard to find a good entry for it. A lot of people were selling at $420 claiming that they were going to buy back in after a correction. They were all forced to buy back in at a much higher price. The same thing could happen at around this level.

Personally, I sold off roughly a 1/3 of all my shares today. If it opens below $900, I may pick up some more and sell them before it reaches $1000. I figure this is the best way to stop the FOMO and still take profit. I've more than made back my original investment.

It will form a base at one point, the question is if it's going to be higher or much lower than $900 or a $1,000 if it reaches that point. That's the bet people are making right now. TSLA still has a lot of support and is full of long term investors willing to stomach a dip for a large pay off years down the line. It's increasingly getting institutional support. It will join the S&P 500 by the end of the year. Battery technology day is just a few months away and what they have been working on is very impressive to me, particularly their new battery chemistry which is by far the best in the world. The model Y is quickly spinning up production. There simply isn't a lot of negative news that can effect it beyond price targets, but the FOMO is cooling off and some of the weak hands will get out.

My bear case is a correction to between around $650-800. I intend to start buying again in the $800s. I would rather miss out on $200 than miss out on the jump past $1000, but I have a ton of faith in TSLA long term.

That's not what you should be looking at, you should be comparing the market cap between the two. The price of the share itself doesn't tell you anything unless you know the amount outstanding. Apple has a market cap of 1.4 trillion dollars, it's ten times larger than Tesla. Tesla has a quarterly gross revenue of 24 billion. Both have extremely high margins compared to other companies within their industry, but only 2% of the vehicles sold last year were electric and electric vehicle production is greatly limited by the amount of batteries a manufacturer can produce, but Tesla is years out ahead of it's competition in that regard.

This isn't my bull case, by the way, I'm just doing an apples to apples comparison, no pun intended.

yes. huge liablitiy and not a lot of liquidity depending on the property and area. Plus you have property taxes and insurance and maintenance.. It's really not as gravy as people think unless you have A LOT of capital and can get things done very fast and cheap.

If interested I'd suggest looking in your area and at what prices of houses are going for calculate your mortgage then calculate any potential mainence fees (probably around avg $100 a month).. insurance.. water and trash if you have to pay that.. and you end up with around 5-10% interest... then you have the risk of some asshole sueing you.. then you don't have the liquidity you would have in stocks.. If you go to sell you could be sitting on it for months..

Compare that with stocks and you can find pretty good companies with around 5% divi that you can sell covered calls on for extra income and then most these stocks are pretty liquid to where if you need to get out quickly you can........ As good as real estate sounds.. unless you know how to do the work on your properties prepare to be scraping by... UNLESS you own a shit load of properties to increase volume..

You don't have to believe me but i've been a landlord for 9-10 years and have seen some shit not just from me but also fellow landlords. .. been in stocks for a lil over 6 years? and it's much funner and safer imo if you have sort of idea of what you are doing.

and to the flipping houses.. the chances of finding deals is hard.. as soon as a good deal comes on the market people bid it for more than the asking price and will straight squeeze you out because they are well established and have resources... best way to get involved if interested is to make friends with real estate agents.. lots of them.. and other investors that are interested to go in with you on a deal to spread the risk... again.. you don't have to believe me.. but i've been in housing for a very long time.. my family on both sides are landlords

Wew, literally went from $750 to $13,000 since Thursday. All started with buying an AMZN call before earninga, loading thay into TSLA by Friday, waking up with even more on Monday, selling it off only to buy back in immediately, then diversifying on tueaday.
