Hi bizlads, financelet here looking for advice.
I have a bit of family money which has been in the hands of an asset manager for the last 8 years or so. The thing is, the total return during this time has been of a 12% on the initial capital, and thats just because last year we had a 6% profit. Obviously, the avg yearly returns have been very low for this period of time, considering we were going for a 4% annual return with our "moderate" risk profile.
Question is, are we being memed? should wre just dump it all into an index fund? I just want that sweet sweet compound interest to build up over a few decades, so short-term losses are not a concern.
