How important is keyword optimizing your resume?

>> No.17040801

Very. You should tailor your resume to have key words for EACH job you apply to.

Unless you are applying to a Federal government job where they rely on that shit 100%, it doesn't fucking matter.

Probably because how good your ass looks has almost no bearing on how much money somebody is willing to pay you. A bitch like can get a do nothing office job that pays 100k just by virtue of being hot.

As a recruiter I'd say pretty important
We use big databases, and sift through them using key words and/or filters.
Here's a free hack for you: fill the header/footer with relevant key words, written in white, repeat them if there are few. Higher hit count=your resume comes out on top. Save your file as protected, and no one will ever be able to find out (as they can't edit the word/pdf)

rather think in termes of what keywords reflect your profile best
being on top of the pile with "java" as a keyword if you've never been near Java is
useless
in general, most used key words are
job title
location
tools/software/permits etc... anything with a specific noun
language skills (just the name of the language is enough)

one thing you can do "stepping out" of your profile is use keywords associated to the rank above yours (ex: manager if you're a supervisor) that way if I'm looking for a manager, your CV pops up, and if you have experience and/or my client is open to potential rather than proven skills, I'll push your resume forward.

Also, use recruitment firms. We all despise retarded hr roasties, and do everything we can to deal directly with operations manager. We don't give a fuck who or what gets hired, if you're an incel or soiboi or altright, we don't give a shit as long as you're not retarded and can hold your spaghetti, we spend our time arguing in defense of the candidates we present, because getting them hired is how we get payed.
A good recruiter will litteraly tell you what to say, how to dress, and what you can expect from the persons you'll meet. I'm straightforward with my candidates about wether they are going to have a "real" interview with another professional of their field, or if they should expect a stupid "strength/weakness" hr retardation fuckfest.

we don't get payed by candidates, it's free to apply with recruiting firms. The companies who rely on us for hiring are the ones paying

if your resume is protected, they can't highlight the words in white. if they ask you to unlock, hide behind privacy/data etc...
but in all honesty, people rarely go that far, especially with pdfs, most boomers can't even edit one

you're not like most recruiters though. I respect the few real ones that I've worked with, but for the most part, recruiters are useless and in some cases (the pajeet network) actually hurt your chances.
recruiters are a lot like real estate agents. some of them are valuable and will actually work for you, but far too many just sit back and wait for something to happen just so that they can collect a fee as middle man.
>I added your house listing to the MLS. Now we just wait for someone to buy it.
>I sent your resume to this company that's posting an opening on public boards. Now we just wait and see if they hire you.

the best way to test the quality of a firm is to look at who they hire
