>So let’s talk about how Ethereum is the closest thing to a quantum computer that humanity has so far.
everyone is so focused on the financial aspect of things and while that is definitely important, the underlying physical basis of these networks is the reason why they are so valuable
The ethereum network is a distributed global computer, with the network using the "proof of work" consensus algorithm to mint new tokens. Keep in mind that consensus in the network is arrived at by many different nodes operating all over the globe in a "simultaneous" manner.
Keep in mind time-zones and latencies when conceptualizing this network in your mind.
This is why these kinds of networks are valuable.
This is also why there is so much misinformation in this industry (particularly with nomenclature). It is my understanding that due to the financial focus of this new DLT technology that we are missing the forest for the trees, so to speak.
Because of the confusion in language, terminology, and nomenclature, we fail to understand that these networks are the true quantum computers that we've all been talking about.
The private corporations that are trying to build a black box quantum computer in their labs are unable to achieve true quantum processing. This is because they fail to appreciate the subtlety involved in having continuous quantum coherence without de-coherence talking place when you "read" and "write" to the computer.
What the US government has done with the invention of DLT is a stroke of genius. They purposefully don't call these things "quantum networks" and instead label them "cryptocurrency" so that most people will brush it off as a gimmick and nothing more than gambling. Meanwhile, this technology is how the US and their allies will ensure world supremacy for this next century.
Chainlink of course is the next step in the evolution of quantum networks. And of course /ourguy/ Ari is involved.
