If Bitcoin is projected to go to 150k in 2021, then wouldn’t that mean every shitcoin would moon harder than the last bull run? So just throw a few thousand dollars into a cheap shitcoin and BAM instant millionaire?

But the scams and shitcoins in 2017 still made millionaires...even if the same coins don’t exist today. Just need to cash out fast at the peak right?

Why would shitcoins benefit next bullrun
Their "usecase" came and passed bitcoin has lightning network, more advanced contracts, coin mixing, etc. While these coins have 1 thing and its low on the checklist of valuable attributes
Its only bitcoin now start looking at startups inside bitcoin

Bitcoin isn't fungible like Monero. Coinmixing is not a realistic option, as the fact that you even used a coin mixing service would get flagged. Have fun as KYC and chain analysis improve.

taproot and schnorr sigs are bandaids that do not solve bitcoins fungibility problem. It's like going to a gunfight with only a bulletproof vest on. Like okay, you are improving your security, but if somebody really wants to get to you they can just shoot you in the face.

additionally bitcoin soft forks are a meme, especially when only like 60% of users have switched to segwit.

does this soft fork mask transaction amounts? nope.
does taproot/schnorr hide the sender/receiver? nope.

Yes it's going to be fucking huge. All that money has to go someplace when BTC whales make millions, so they pick alts to dump all their money into so they don't lose money when BTC inevitably dips from a new ATH.

oh and to add to this, this is yet another example of privacy that is "optional", meaning it won't be used by the majority of bitcoin normies. This also means that people who are using this feature will stick out because of a weak anonymity set.

No, the only altcoins that will succeed in the next bull run will be ones with actual utility. e.g. link, eth, xmr, exchange coins, etc.

Ignorance is not bliss. You’re basically telling us about your “cool” new pager and all of its functions. It’s obsolete and Stockholm syndrome is what’s taking place now, unfortunately. Bitcoin is one of the reasons why crypto isn’t able to move forward fast enough. Most don’t know anything exists but bitcoin and takes a high IQ to understand there’s actually coins out there that are levels ahead of this dinosaur. I don’t expect you to understand or comprehend this. Goodluck though

You know it's going to happen, but it hasn't happened yet. The bitcoin network could come to a halt or be hacked, or the world economy could collapse, however unlikely these things are, the halving will be priced in after it actually happens like usual

Agreed. Most people are retarded. It's that simple. Nobody learned from 2017. The only thing that will stop altcoin scams is some sort of regulation. Until then pump and dumps will continue.

What's the alternative a GPU secured shitcoin that hardforks pow every couple weeks?
If bitcoin was easy to change it would have CT and schnoor already but the stakes are too high it'll chip away to get there without breaking consensus

Yeah it makes sense put the latest cryptology research into the chain but that's a security risk so it's all give and take

Btc is not going to 150k by 2021, that’s not rational. Maybe a few years down the road but not that soon.

I can explain what happened to me. I was on 4 chan during 2013 and bitcoin was fucking EVERYWHERE. I was about to FOMO in but luckily it dumped before I had the chance to buy 5 btc. I figured the scam was over so I never bothered to DYOR.. never even read the btc whitepaper.

Then 2017 rolled around and I learned about smart contracts, btc etc. By that point I knew better than to buy into the run up, I waited for the crash and then started accumulating.

I think what will happen this time is that everyone who was somewhat aware will realize that crypto is going away and FOMO in, and a new generation of bagholders will be born. There's more than enough juice to keep this going for two more rounds.

Even knowing all of this, I still get FOMO. Green makes people buy more. The psychology of it is very tough to suppress. Realize that each wave of successive bagholders is dumber than the last.

It will be really tough to sell the top when every fiber in your body is telling you to buy more, but that's the only way to make it.
