i'm still alive so i don't know but my guess is that suiciders that do it in public want there to be a small chance that someone stops them and if nobody cares about him signalling that he is about to end his life he will feel even more alone and depressed, helping to push him over the edge. or some people just want to know how it feels to fly before they die.
