some anon said in a thread before that craig singing would prove nothing. that's bollocks. him not signing is proof he can't since he would maximize his profit achieve all his goals by signing while maintaining a plausible deniability in court in case of litigation.

in the philosophical sense signing is not absolute proof of identity it just makes it very very very likely. just as a green light is not proof someone will not run the red and crash into you just makes it likely enough that we live our lives based on it.

not signing however makes it astronomically unlikely that a candidate is satoshi. because satoshi was a man who understood cryptography and how to apply it in his life and communication he also ranted about backing up wallets and keys a lot.

Never thought about this: Claiming to be Satoshi really puts a gigantic target on one's back so if you're walking around willy nilly then that may speak volumes to the fact that people who have an interest in finding Satoshi have concluded you are not the real Satoshi.
