I would never hire you. You would have to be retarded to hire a 20 year old who only puts "ownership" xp and 50% of your resume is trivial boasts about your grades which I can assure you no one gives a fuck about. For trying to sell yourself as a young prodigy, you could really stand to learn Microsoft Word. To be honest, I'd much rather hire someone your age who has 2 years of entry level McDonald's employment than you.

genuinely good feedback, I like it fellas

I do want to include my campus journalism though, as it is a venture I started that turned ~$900 in profit in a couple months. Maybe I'll not name names and just refer to them as "popular news sources" or some shit.

>>16953015
>You would have to be retarded to hire a 20 year old who only puts "ownership" xp
sadly, I have no other work experience. this is for an entry-level auditing position that's dying for young talent. I've focused mostly on these 2 companies during my college life, 1 of which has $50k of investment in, so it makes sense why I prioritize working for it.

>50% of your resume is trivial boasts about your grades which I can assure you no one gives a fuck about
I'd imagine that's how most people straight out of college advertise themselves. I agree maybe my "bachelor's at 20" and college credit plus might be a bit masturbatory, but it feels a little empty without them, too.

>For trying to sell yourself as a young prodigy
not trying to do that. how do I make myself seem like less of a douche

>you could really stand to learn Microsoft Word
is something off with the resume, or is it just because I listed it? reference to Excel & Word is just because the job listing said that as a requirement and it worked as fine padding

>I'd much rather hire someone your age who has 2 years of entry level McDonald's employment than you.
I worked at a Wendy's a decent length of time when I was 16. Should I include that? I figured it wasn't relevant since pretty much everyone has worked fast food at one point or another

>that studio never released a game.
it's only been 2 years and it's mostly a hobbyist project. maybe I should signal that

>Instantly outed yourself as a dissident rightist, no HR Stacy worth her salt is going to give you the interview.
you're right. I need to erase the names

>> No.16953259

>>16953235
(CONT'D)
>>crypto marketer
>just lol
yeah lmao I should cut down padding. but I did work directly with main dev

>Wtf is being experienced in computer hardware? just list the coding languages
this company is run by boomers. I should specify that I've built computers in the past, you're right that I'm being too vague

and the coding languages aren't really anything substantial. I understand the fundamentals of coding but have only worked in Visual Basic, GML, Unity code etc. I could read commented code and figure it out, but I'm not really an expert nor can I code sufficiently in C#,C++, etc. but that's also not completely relevant to being an internal auditor.

>anyways, congrats for getting a degree by 20 anon
thanks

>My first jobs loved that I won a competition and had a 3.7 GPA. Boss said as much.
yeah I feel like this is the only real substantial meat for padding out a post-graduate resume.

that whole 'misspelling' words on resume shit was years ago, nowadays everything is vetted by software and the resumes that do match go through some poor ass HR person or recruiter who literally make commission on people they hire, so they couldn't give a fuck about your misspelling.

Once they okay it the interview doesn't read your resume despite them telling you to bring a copy.

Its a crummy job but i just need it for the insurance cause no way im gonna drive 5+ hours round trip every day for 5 days a week over an entire year just for about $20 an hour in what is likely a call center.

Even with most of the harder coding (or so I assume) fleshed out it feels like my game has progressed far quicker than i expected it. I sat/laid there wondering "this feels too easy, why would anyone pay me for this even though a similiar idea was done before yet sold big". Can't shake this feeling that I'm missing something. Granted my game still needs more work but the more difficult aspects (for me) seemed to have suddenly been overcome (certain aspects dealing with code). I'm reaching a point where I have to work on more art design before touching code again. However I'm not doing it purely for money. I want to make fun games to play and other reasons.

What have you been doing during the intervening years?

Education? List it first.
Working for yourself? List that as your business and put it first.
Absolutely nothing? Then list alot of your skills to full up the resume.

I see everybody listing Microsoft Excel, SQL, VBA, Python etc. Be careful with that shit.
If you're interviewing with our firm, I'll sit you down and have you work on a project tailored to the tools you mentioned on your resume. 8/10 candidates don't make it.

Prioritize your skills, then. Try and build a portfolio that communicates, "I've been taking it easy and building my skillset these past few years, but now I'm ready to jump back into the workforce and make use of it."

Just keep applying senpai. Get a shitty one with a nice job title and if it doesn't just fudge the job title and let Toilberg make a few assumptions.
I used this to my advantage when I was in college because I managed to get a job at an urban planning office doing data collection (literally just taking photos and measuring sidewalk ramps) but I technically had the same job title (Transportation Planning Intern) as people doing actual urban planning and report writing. I made sure to volunteer to help out a tiny amount in some of these projects and then gave them equal space on my resume to the data collection portion of the job
Looks much better than data collection slave

Thats a cool gatekeeping method, boomer. How many of those tests that you give could you, an employee of said company, complete yourself if 80% of applicants cannot? Are you perhaps confusing job specific skill training with general knowledge?
Kinda hope you're not trolling, because I know a lot of faggots like you with imposter syndrome trying to find relevance in this world.

nah, the resume is basically a marketing device. if you are listing something like python on your resume, that's a skill you are claiming to have and expect the employer to consider when considering your candidacy. if you can't actually do anything with python, then don't fucking list it. this shit's a pet peeve of mine too. people want to keyword stuff and pretend like they can do everything, when the truth is a far more narrow set of skills. you can't bullshit your way into tech jobs.

Uh you can if your a minority (not Asian) or a woman. I know people with what would be elementary programming skills score entry level tech jobs and in the DC area so they pay well. One of them was literally autistic and they had fine arts meme degrees too kek. So don’t stand on your tech high horse it’s all determined by HR these days.

kek, that's true. I'm a white male though and know what I can't get away with it. women and minorities are held to a different standard in tech.
but for real though, it's not gatekeeping like the other anon crying about to expect someones resume to match their actual skills.

"Gained Experience " is not an accomplishment. Description of work should be your accomplishments. Better would be "Used xxx software to reduce costs by 50% compared to alternatives and greq in house accounting capabilities from $1m to $10m in annual revenue."
Don't use that but its the idea. Also, exaggerate the numbers a little but not too much.

Dont provide shit that shows it is trivial. I can not emphasize this enough. Wtf. is "opened and closed place of work". What are you, 15?

Don't show the art minor.

"MANAGERIAL ACCOUNTING" without explanation sounds better than "analyzed data via Excel". Leave out "introductory blabal"

So:
Managerial accounting
Assistant Manager
Mathematics Lecturer

Also, if you can use python, you can find relevant experience to go with it.

Lead with the most important and best shit, i.e. your experience with most recent first. Move the mayo thing into experience. Emphasize you know how to work in/with and manage teams with diverse background, from professors to fast food workers and how they were happy (make up feedback if necessary).
Use Bsc to show you have the education and move it to the back. No-one cares or wants to read a definition of 'informatics'.

So:
LINE MANAGER; managing a team of 10 people xyz.
TECHNICIAN; maybe move this one 2018-2019
PROJECT MANAGER Mayo clinic
VIDEO DIRECTOR;

Really though, get a template.
