Not true i was in 2016 not as an investor on crypto but as a user.

There were pools that reached 50% back then , segwit worked to fuck up asicboost and descentralize mining , tough i will agree it's not the ideal since there is a centralization tendency due to asics.

If btc flatlines then xmr or eth will surpass there is no stoping this anon , crypto is an idea and the pandoras box is opened.

No ammount of shorting or shit like that will stop it, specially as regulated fintech are being cucked into extinction due to regulation, even in that industry we see massive centralization , a few years ago you had paypal , neteller , skrill , and a lot more , now it's paypal dominating and a lot of shaddy companies that freeze your wealth for no fucking reason if the bank behind them goes full retard.
