They're right. Meritocracy no longer works in most Western coubtries. But don't worry, natural selection will solve the problem. Countries that manage to keep a healthy merit-based social ladder will prosper, while others will decline.

>> No.16933704

Don't worry, for large parts of the world that's how always been. its just you westernfags who need to learn to cope. Look at Slavs or Africans, they have low expectations thus actually happier with whatever they get.

Westernfags now all think they're special destined to have all of it but most of them wont. I born into a shitty country with shitty prospects thus having my own place and my own schedule is already more than what I could have asked for.

Meritocracy never was a thing, the word was literally coined in a satirical book which makes fun of the idea

There was a small gap of quasi-meritocracy post WW2, but thats all. People forget that even in America there was a clear ethnic hierarchy, not to mention other countries which had it much worse.

People don't complain when the system benefits them..

>>16933731
No you dont, you want it all for yourself, you dont "progress" shit. Society never "progressed" by grunts, but by exceptional people. And those are 1 out of a million. Napoleon fucking progressed society, not low class grunts.

>> No.16933744

I think working hard can definitely lead to improved circumstances.
The key is not to take "working hard" to mean slaving away for whatever job you have because you think they'll reward you, it means making informed decisions and being devoted to spending time improving your marketability and/or job skills.

Most people with shitty minimum wage jobs could spend time outside of work to upskill into a better job eventually. For poor fags multiplying your income as early as possible will show greatest returns.

Nah, in the 40s this country was a heap of ashes and debt. People worked fucking hard to build it, digging fucking canals by hand. Semiconductors, TVs, CDs got developed right here while people were making roads, dikes, houses. Plant breeders were creating more productive crops, farmers optimized their shit practices. Blood, sweat and tears all around. Now you faggits come in and say 'muh natural resources' to pretend people didn't earn that shit. That's because westerners are special, we've just been hijacked by Jews and are increasing flooded by clannish immigrants. Western egalitarianism means meritocracy can exist. Too bad westerners extend their egalitarianism to everyone including Jews, Slavs, Asians, niggers, etc who then fuck it up. Those clannish people's nepotism ruin the whole thing. If westerners could realise this and enact a cleansing, meritocracy could return but their egalitarianism prevents from doing something so "unfair/bigoted/racist". Catch 22.

Doesn't surprise me.

I followed all the rules, and worked endlessly. Solid student with honors, awards and made Eagle. Got a double degree (Business Management and Mechanical Engineering) with diversified minor set for reputable university. All while overcoming my clinical depression eventually cleared by doctor to be off meds, lost 200 lbs and helped my parents keep their house and marriage. I left university ready to take on the world having worked hard for a winning set up, near textbook prefect.

Then slowly went crazy trying to get a job. Kept lowering my standards again and again, just to start generating income. Jumped 6 job in 3 years to finally make minimum wage without benefits. I knew my working conditions were illegal, but suing the company was not feasible and I needed to eat.

I am nearly 40 and now have a decent entry job at a good company, paid off all debts and completely own a cheap car. I am told the lack of debt technically puts me in a better place than my peers. But I see peers from my class who have 6 figure incomes at top companies, many who are upper level positions having started out of university with mid level positions, with wives, children, home (or even homes) and a car that is needlessly expensive.

Yet I was the hard worker, the privilege born, the white, highly educated kid, who over came adversity, with honors, and with the rich connected parents (who never gave me a cent more then require to clear child abuse claims or endorsed me at all, given my standing). I, the self made man who have gained knowledge and skills many times over. The ideal candidate who can check nearly every box HR can think of. ... Yet I am the one who resorts to lives in my car picking up loose change on the street.

And the drunk idiot at the college frat who tried to steal my homework, he is VP at a Fortune 500.
Ok, I think there maybe a disconnect in our grand Meritocracy.

There's literally thousands of bang average Ivy League grads in their twenties making six figure salaries on Wall Street who have no idea what they're doing. Finance is absurdly inefficient and a lot of people are performing roles that are almost entirely unproductive. Big firms demand growth and, as a result, unnecessary processes, jobs, and even departments spring up for almost no reason. For example: guys in the top-half of management are demanding two PAs just because their equivalent across the street has one, and these redundant PAs are sometimes coming in at $70K or more.

How can an ordinary person be expected to have faith in the 'hard work = better life' myth when finance - the industry that best embodies the economic values of our time - continues to defy that logic by paying young, over-educated people to push paper and rewards them in a way that's completely unrelated to productivity or effort?

Retard outlook. Yes, obviously hard work alone won't make you a millionaire, economic mobility is much less than you are led to believe, and there is stratification where some people will always be richer than others because of birth. But within the circumstance you were born into, of course you will have a better life if you work hard than if you don't. For the millionaire's child, this might mean the difference between having a net worth of 1 or 10 million, and for the poor person this might mean having your own place vs living in a shitty housing project, but it's indisputable e.g. working hard in school to get into a better college and qualifying for a higher paying job will make your life better than if you drop out of school and work at McDonalds. It won't automatically make your life a fairytale, but your life WILL be better if you try than if you're a lazy dropout.

After getting the experience cited and coming back they told my they weren't looking for people in their senior year as the internships was geared toward helping people gain experience.

Computing was getting flooded as it was one of the must have degrees. I predicted the market would have an over supply by my graduating year hurting my salary and giving me a lot of competition. From my friends who went that route I think I was mostly right. They all quickly got jobs unlike me, but they constantly complain about how soul crushing it is and how they are making far less then they thought. Still they got a lousy job (lousy by relative terms, still decent jobs in general terms) and I got none, so maybe I should have done computing. But companies aren't really looking for computing workers like they say, they are really looking for computing solutions. So you are seeing high competition, high turnover and more contract work with less pay. Unless you are the golden one that can solve the problem in which case you get big money, but still lack long term security. The flood of computing job postings is miss leading to the real market problem.

In theory the free market is ideal. In practice, consumers are too stupid to vote intelligently with their dollar to keep corporations in check.

It isn't any different with government, however. Just look at the current administration of the US, played their populace like a fiddle and got rewarded by corporations for doing so.

Clearly a system with more checks and balances is needed, corporatism has grown too cancerous.

My first 2 roles were in the Big 4. It sort of drove this home. It's way more about selling yourself than actually getting work done.
My best appraisal for my first job occurred in the year I did the least work (I had anew role lined up months in advance).

I was getting in late, taking 2 hour lunches and leaving early.

No-one noticed any of that, but I said the right things to managers and put more time into my summary of work (because I wasn't doing my actual job) and that got me a bigger bonus.

If you are currently employed, you are essentially a boot licker. There is no rationalizing or getting around this. Cuckpitalist solution would be just work 160 hrs every week instead of 100. Accompanied by all kind of mental gymnastics how taking your freedoms, increasing taxes and printing money will somehow lower your rent maybe somewhere in the future .

I lost the weight before I graduated university, so they only saw me like that during my first few interviews for the early internships.
Turns out I had insensitivity to wheat that was messing me up bad, and nearly every food has wheat in it. Look really fit once the fat was gone given how many years I had desperately been working out and carrying all that fat.

Now that you bring up looks I figured a bigger part was how inconceivably young I look, given how so many tell me to "come back once you have experience". If they read my resume they would know how much experience I have. I mean I am near 40 and if I shave and change outfits I could pass for 15. Back then I looked like 12.

Basically it doesn't matter if 100% of the public agrees on something, policy is purely determined by the Israel Lobby and to some extent the financial elite.
