I saw some vacant land 30min out of the city going for ~80k, mostly bush land, no building permits allowed.
Is it worth picking up something like that?
Maybe trying to petition the city to change its status in 20-40years?
Could I just start building a tower or digging tunnels without getting found out?
There's plenty of parks/hiking trails around that are free and sparsely populated so I don't see any real appeal in owning the land to be in nature when I can't really profit off it.
Best idea I could put a mobile trailer or RV and live there to save some rent money, but I don't think I could get reasonable internet quality there.
Any ideas?

I own about 100 acres. It's easy to make a go at it when you have no debt and some savings (maybe 20k+. But more the better)
Raise some cows for milk. Grow potatoes and store them properly. You get food for the whole year. Build some barns for your cows if you live where there is snow. Get a tractor for cutting hay. It's a full time job. But it's literally been about 10 years since I've seen a nigger so life is good

I'm the 100 acre anon. My Id changed as I am traveling around today. My area laws say that anything under a certain square footage doesn't doesn't need to be built to code. I still need to get a permit to build it and that costs like 50 bucks. We never fully own our land of course. We are just a higher class of slaves with some extra freedom. Can't really answer, but as an aside, I was looking at a16z's portfolio and they invested in a company called granular, which hasa subsidiary called Acrevalue, which crunches GIS data about soil, population, etc. to give people a really accurate way of determining the value of vacant land.

I think in the future there'll be a way to determine the actual value of any parcelt of land based on pretty objective data.

I unironically plan on doing this. I've been planning on it for about two years now. I want to get some acres of land like this anons shows in his pic (>>16930978) then have a fully automated garden, farm, life stock, etc. I'm going to have to pick the stuff myself, but that's alright. I could scale up if need be, but I'll probably want to live a nice and peaceable life.

I may even have it where the animal's pens can be moved by having them build on wheels so I can rotate the crops. I was doing research a while ago and this was recommended by some farming expert.

Underrated idea. Depending on your climate, you may need tunnels you can raise the sides on in summer. We grow a dozen and leave them in fairly big pots. You can get half a kilo (a pound) off that every couple of days. We haven't perfected looking after them though, and the heat where I live tends to dry them out and kill them pretty easily if you neglect them (east coast Australia).
